Hey BOTTers,

Head hunger is so strange.  I've been pretty solid with my food and exercise.  However, yesterday was tough.  The same foods that make me feel satisfied and I enjoy didn't quite do it for me yesterday.  Nothing in particular was going on as far as emotions, situations or anything that I could determine was causing the head hunger.  It was there though.

The only thing that I can think of is that I've been working a lot and feeling a bit overwhelmed as far as not enough time to get everything done that I want to.  So, my plans for the weekend are to have some fun family time.  When we don't take care of ourselves and allow some downtime, I think it catches up with us.

Here's my check-in for today:

CARDIO:  Wii Fit Advanced Step

FOOD:

B - Cottage cheese
S - String cheese
L - Spinach salad with 1/4 cup of Feta cheese and spray Italian dressing
S - Kay's Naturals Cinnamon Toast Pretzels
D - Garlic and Butter Grilled Talapia
S - Power Crunch bar

Have a terrific Thursday BOTTing.

YEAH!!!!  Two compliant full liquid days and my BMI came down a bit last night.   Am going to do one more day before I go to pureed foods.  Seems as though this signals my head and my "inards" I'm serious.  (Plus I know I can do this RIGHT - save me from perfectionism! LOL)

So, I commit to a compliant BOTT full liquid day with some Wii exercise this evening (It's my fingernail appointment which means I will get home later - but, hey, one has to get one's priorities straight LOL)  Believe it or not - I'm a CALORIE INCINERATOR when I do the free step exercise.    I'm so impressed with me (this is not a joke - I really am impressed )

See if you can entice 3 people to smile today - you will feel better (no one likes to look at a frown) and so will they.

Have a delightful BOTT day.

Good morning Cathy.

You definatly need to take some you time this weekend. I know what you mean about the head hungry issue. I bought a package of cookies for the boys to have for afterschool snacks and they have been calling to me ever since. Yesterday I gave in and ate one and the rest of the day they were like magnets. I know I need to learn to deal with it since my kids don't have weight issues I don't want to deny them.

Oh well, todays a new day and the cookies will not win. Not as much going on today as yesterday. Both boys have afterschool activities so no kids till 4:30. Heres the plan for today.

Exercise: Sweatin to the Oldies video (too cold to walk)

B: Breakfast burrito w turkey and cheese
S: String cheese
L: Spinich salad w turkey
S: turkey cheese roll
D: Potato w ground beef and cheese
S: Protein Shake

200+ water
Vitamins

See ya on the board!

But do they really need unhealthy snacks?    Bet they'd survive without cookies

Have a great BOTT day (this is the "next day" for you that Cathy talks about)

I am the same way with my son.  I buy him snacks that either I don't like or that definately make me dump.  His favorite chocolate chip cookies are discusting to me and he love lil debbie brownies - which make me dump.   His other favorite is Oreos which I love, so when he wants them, I buy a single pack at the gas station, he eats them and I am not distracted by them.

He also loves donuts.  We have started making worldaccordingtoeggface donut recipes.  He loves them, they are protien donuts that are baked in the oven and I can have one too.

Hope this helps

Today is that day for me.  I want to crunch something.  I also feel off today.  Its hard to describe.  My morning was crazy, and this cold damp weather is giving my arthritis in my knee fits.  I altered my eating schedule so that I could take a pain med.  So this is about time I have my morning oatmeal, and I ate it about 90 minutes ago.

I try to only bring with me what I am going to eat for the day at work so that I don't graze all day.  I do have a spare package of oatmeal in my drawer or a 100 cal pack of popcorn.  In the mean time, I have popped some gum in my mouth to see if it is just a chewing fixation I need to satisfy.

B - weight control oatmeal
s - protien chia tea
l - modified chicken tortilla soup
s - carbmaster yogart
D - grilled chicken salad
s - beef jerky

Exercise with probably be the new pilate's or yoga dvd I got this weekend.  I have been trying to bike 5 miles a day, but my knee really hurts today, so I think I will rest it.

water - 120 +oz

suppliments - on track

Pam - How are doing "crunching" your gum?  Don't think I've ever had a "crunch" craving - mine goes more to "goodies" LOL  Maybe I could develop one though - somehow celery just doesn't seem the same though   I like cheddar cheese Quakes - but it's often a struggle to control how many I eat so find it best to just stay away from them altogether.  I try to make my food earn it's way into my mouth by supplying a nutritional need - but, being human, I don't always manage to do that

I know you're going to have a fiine BOTT day - maybe not a comfortable one, by any BOTT day is a fine one.

Actually the gum worked wonders.  I guess it was a chewing thing or maybe I just got busy and forgot about it.

I like the Quakes too, but once I open them, I have portion control issues.  Even if I count them out I know there are still there.

I was always a goody craver too.  Within the last 6 months or so, its a crunchy thing.  My doc thinks I drink too much water and and my sodium is low, so I actually crave the salty things.

I often wondered if I could get hypnotized to not like food.  I am too much of an emotional eater person.  Sad, happy, depressed, excited, exhausted, I always turn to food.

I too was an "equal oportunity" eater.  Happy/sad, alone/with people, hungrynot hungry, etc etc etc.  Fortunately now what seems to trigger me to want to eat is feeling dumb/inadequate.    I really have to stop and process those feelings when something happens that triggers them.

You know, it's interesting you mention craving salty things being because you drink too much water.  I'd never even thought of that as being a possiblity - I've always worked on the theory if 60 oz is good then 100 oz would be better.  Maybe not.  I haven't been drinking quite as much recently and, come to think about it, salty things haven't been a problem.  Thanks

I wouldn't dare chew gum at work - Once I start I just keep chewing harder and faster and harder and faster

Hyonotizim doesn't seem to work - primarily because we can't survive without food.  That's what makes it one of the most difficult of addictions to overcome.  Thank goodness for bariatric surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad your day's getting easier.
