Hi my name is Lois.    I am new.  I had surgery in September 2001.  I started at 292 pounds and made it to 220 pound.  Over the years I have gained back all of it plus reinforcements.  I was at 318 three weeks ago.  Now I am at 307.  I lost 11 pounds.  I am seeing a doctor who helps with weight management.  I am drinking and eating a lot of protein, and I just started going back to the gym.  I have to be careful though,  because last year I got plantar fasciitis in my foot, and it took over a year to heal.  That is when I really gained the weight.   I am also writing down everything I eat to hold me accountable to myself and to my dr.   I am trying to make small goals and not look at the big picture else I'll get depressed.  My first goal is to get below 300.

Lois, I'm so glad you have chosen to be one of us BOTTers   I hope you find this site as helpful as I have.  Don't be shy , come often and let us know how we can be of help.  This is undoubtedly the most caring, supportive, and accepting group of people I've ever found.

Of course you can do this, you did it before so you CAN do it again.  I believe in you, please join me in believing in yourself

When I get off track, I find it helpful to go back to the refeeding schedule we followed right after surgery - seems as though it signals my head and insides that I'm serious about this.  Remember, it isn't realistic to thnk that in the next 80 years we will never get off track so we need to learn what works for us to get back on.  Cathy teaches us that getting off track isn't the important thing - that what we do the next day is what's important.  And with your rededication, this is your "next day'.

I have to keep reminding myself that this isn't a race , it's a lifetime thing.

Welcome  WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER - YES WE CAN
