Hmmmm suggestions for getting rid of flabby bellies?

So I've found my trouble spots now that I'm back at the gym. My belly, my butt and my upper thighs. Now I do yoga ball work with a medicine ball held over my chest, doing sit-ups that are thankfully lower impact than crunches. I have unlimited access to a variety of machines. I do stretches to loosen up before work-outs.... but the thing is, it seems to only focus on my upper abs, possibly the side ones. I'm still having trouble targeting my mid and lower abs. I also would like to work the outer hip and inner thigh areas.

Anyone know some good tricks?

I saw Mel B (scary spice) on Ellen the other day and they were doing a modified crunch kind of thing that looked really really hard and it worked the obliques more.... basically they sat down with both legs and back in the air and then using a full water bottle as a weight you turned side to side.... back and water bottle one way with legs and feet going the other.... you never fully laid down or rested your back or legs....  they also did one they called the hot potato... using same pose and water bottle you passed the water bottle under and over your legs from hand to hand in one constant flowing motion... both Mel and Ellen did these and they looked really simple to do.... I tried it once.... OMG it was tough and my poor tailbone with all it's missing padding was aching something ferocious... LOL

That sounds alot like a modified Pilate's position... hm. Except in the pilaties you just held that position for a bit. I'll have to think about padding my tail bone befire giving that one a shot, but thanks for idea!

The Bar Method is great for toning that area.  I also like the Leg Magic machine.  If you actually use it, it works wonders on your legs.  Robin
