Just joined the group. Have been slipping on several fronts but I really want to get back on track. I go the gym 5 times a week, and I'm going to go back to basics on a full liquid/protein shake diet. I could stand to lose the some 30 lbs I regained since my lowest post-op... I'd love to reach the ultimate goal of 50 more lbs gone. That'll take time. But it'll never happen if I don't get back on track, right?

Welcome fellow BOTTer!

I'm a lurking BOTTer.  I absorb the great energy that these folks have to continue my journey.  I had some stressful eating for 2 months and gained 30 lbs in that time.  Easy to do!  I've been BOTTing for almost 3 weeks now and only one day I went over my calorie balance for the day.  I'm also diving headfirst into some eating behavior therapy so I don't do that stress eating again.  Bleh!  The consequences are hard to face after the stress is gone.

Hugs to you on your new and improved journey,

Luv,
Ratkitten

You can do it!!!  You know you can because you did it once - so, I believe in you, now please join me and believe in yourself!

When I get off track, it really helps to go back and go through the refeeding process we did after surgery.  Guess it kind of reminds our head what this is all about - being healthy and happy.
When I'm struggling, it helps to set my goal for 5 minutes of compliance, then another 5 minutes etc et****il I feel in control again.

It is so "human" to get impatient and feel as though there's no point in disciplining ourselves if your weight loss/shrinking isn't dramatic every day.  So, I have to keep reminding myself that   A.  It isn't realistice to think in the next 70 years we are never going to get off track.  Cathy teaches us that getting off track isn't the important thing - the important thing is what we do the next day - your rededication makes this your "next day".  and B. this isn't a race , this is a lifetime thing.  (When we were going off and on diets before surgery - no one ever told us maintenance is forever.  We dieted, lost weight, rewarded ourselves by going back to eating - after all, wasn't that the whole point of dieting - to get small enough to go back to eating? LOL)  Well, guess what, that doesn't work any better after surgery than before. it just takes our head time to accept that and move on.   We've all been there and done that.

I'm so glad you have chosen to be one of us BOTTers   WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER, YES WE CAN

Hey wow, thanks for the supporting words, all. =) Its great to hear them. It'll be slow going I'm sure but I have this great tool that took a lifetime decision to make to get. I ought to restart putting it to good use!
