New Here - Day 1 on 5DPT

Hi all - new here.  I joined last week and have posted just once or twice.  I got my protein shakes in the mail yesterday and am starting the 5DPT today.  Waking up and having only a Slimquick drink was very difficult.  I don't know how I'm going to make it through 2 days of just liquids!  I bought a big thing of Nectar Caribbean Cooler Protein Powder and a couple of samples of Bariatric Advantage protein meal replacement drinks.  I'm also drinking these Slimquick drink mixes with my water twice a day.  I've been really good with my water, drinking over 100 oz every day!
I have a couple of questions about the 5DPT.  When/if can you add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet?  I love fruit and you would think its a freebie, since there's no calories to it, but then again, its not protein.  Also, is yogurt considered a "soft protein"?  Thanks for everyone's input and encouragement!

I gave up the 5DPT halfway through the first day.  Yes, I did. I was just tooooooo hungry!!! I started my day with a 10 oz protein shake that I hated.  It was a new product for me and I found it really gross. .  I had 20 oz of Slimquick (a drink powder you add to water) for my morning "snack", if thats what you call it.  At lunch I had a cup and a half of minestrone soup broth (no chunks of anything in it) that was sooooo good and my afternoon "snack" was another protein drink that was much better (different kind this time) .  I was out running errands today and when I got home I was starving.  That was about 3:00 pm.  That's when I decided thehell with it!  I gave in and had 2 little rolls with turkey and lowfat swiss cheese and it was sooooooo good to have real food!
I admire all of you who  have successfully done the 5DPT.
Personally, I just can't do it.  My husband, who didn't have surgery, originally promised to do the first two days of liquids with me and he bailed before lunch.  It is soooo hard to stick to it when you have others in the house who are still eating "normal" foods.

In the meantime, I have recommitted to eating healthy foods and not grazing.  I will continue to have a protein shake for breakfast and lots of water.  I am making healthy soup for dinner for the next couple of days, homemade of course.  I will stick to my fruits, vegetables and other complex carbs and NO WHITE STARCHES.  I WILL make this happen!

Thanks for all your support and I encourage your suggestions also!  Thanks everyone!

The 5DPT is not for everyone. Continue to make good decisions on food, watch the grazing and exercise and you should see results. Keep us posted on your progress.
