Hey BOTTs,

Do you find you do great during the week and then when the weekend comes around, you run the wagon off the road?

Share with us if you do and what/when/how  We can put a plan in place to prevent this from happening    If you had this problem and you have some great tools that help you stay on track during the weekend, please share

Take care,
Kathy

Hi guys I am new and this happens to me almost every weekend. Any suggestions welcome. I have learned to just count on my structured work days to get me to goal.

I have two ADHD kids, a disabled boyfriend, a home, a job, a dog, and lots of responsibilities like the rest of us....unfortunately I don't have any friends or family I can turn to for relief of my home responsibilities..they are full time all the time...and it gets rough sometimes...food has always been my only "numbing" friend...

I have tried books, I bought a sauna, I have a jacuzzi, I have gym equipment, but the old habit dies hard...I bake under weekend stress...

all suggestions welcome..........

Hi Kath,

I can't say that I have this completely wired and wrapped up.  I am aware that unstructured time and exposure to things I wouldn't otherwise have in my face.  I remember that my body doesn't know it is the weekend and that I'm off.  I do some fancy self-talking at times and fast forward to the next day and how I'll feel.

If I do indulge, I remember that the following day is the most important.  Everyone has one of those days when they veer off track slightly.  I make sure that day after that I am cleanly back on track with my food and exercise.  If I do that and not stretch one day into multiple days, I feel much better about myself and continue on track.

I also plan.  If we are going to a movie (trigger time for me) I'll bring a bag of Kay's Naturals White Cheddar Kruncheez or their Cinnamon French Toast Pretzels and work it into my planned food for the day.  If we're going out and I don't know what choices I'll be able to make, I will put some turkey jerky in my pure and bring other items that I especially enjoy.

Great post!

Cathy

Great suggestions Cathy, hold on I am writing these down.  I am hoping we get a lot of responses that will lead to a kinda check list to help get through the weekends!

I love the idea of good snacks for the movies...God knows I LOVE popcorn

Take care,
Kathy

I am not perfect at this but sometimes I will sneak water and protein bars into the movies too. Movie popcorn is a big weakness for me.

It's crazy but I have the opposite problem.  My weekends are so busy that I do so much better about eating less calories and focusing on protein when I do remember to eat.  During the week, I work from home and my desk is just one room from the fridge!  Being bored and close to the kitchen is a lethal combination.  Not to mention how sedentary my job is...  I am thinking about getting a Wii Fit so I can hop up every once in a while and do an activity, then get back to my desk and work for a little while, then do it again.  I think the activity would help with the eating too much as well!  thanks, Robin

Happy to report...I ROCKED this weekend. Planned It...Logged It...Stuck To It!!!!!! I'm patting myself on the back right now. It's actually easier for me to stick to plan when I'm at home...I always seem to crash and burn at work.  :(
