Back On Track Together
Come take a virtual hike with me on the appalachian trail
Come join me on our virtual hike of the appalachian trail, I will be posting a minimum of weekly.
The hike starts today - 2,175 miles. Actually, I hiked on the appalachian trail yesterday with my friend John. We hiked for 2 1/2 hours, his estimate was 4-5 miles. I will tell you the first (and last since we did a u turn) mile of the hike was pretty flat and pretty easy. Then we hit the wooded area, and it was pretty much up hill. We took a few mini-breaks, but what I was proud of was my recovery was much quicker (breathing) than it was a year ago. Coming down the hill was much easier and quicker. It started out a nice sunny day in the high 30's and by the time we ended the clouds came in and the weather became much chillier.
So far today I have 3 miles posted on my wall chart. Start accumalating (sp?) miles whether it be walking, biking, elipitical.. whatever works best for you. As the weather wams up I'll be doing more outside walking.
Posting again the google map I'm going to use.. I started in Maine today ... Ever onward

I'm going to pass for right now. I'm just now getting back in the routine of walking from being sick with pneuomonia for weeks that seemed like forever. The doctor warned me to take it easy and build slowly.
It sounds like so much fun. I'm going to keep the link and check it out when I'm back to normal. I look forward to your updates. Best of luck!!
