Back On Track Together
Friday Reflection
Jen's Thought For The Day motivated me for my Friday Reflection (thanks Jen!). Jen's post is below this one.
In Jen's post, she writes about hobbies:
"A hobby a day keeps the doldrums away!"
Make a list of three hobbies you would like to pursue.
I have coaching clients and members that I talk with that struggle with boredom. After we change our habits from eating out of boredom, for comfort and as a distraction to uncomfortable emotions, what do we do? Some of us have regained weight due to eating out of boredom to fill our time.
You don't have to fill your time with food. That is a habit that we used to have that we don't need any longer. Fill your time and get a distraction to the screaming urges of head hunger by a hobby. Either a favorite hobby that you could pick back up, do more often or get a new hobby of something that sounds interesting and fun or that you've always wanted to do.
My husband LOVES to fish. I've always teased him that he loves to fish so much that he must have fish blood running through his veins. Many years ago I had a friend that told me I needed to get my own fishing. What she meant is to find a passion of my own just as my husband has a passion for fishing. I've always remembered that.
I've tried many hobbies throughout the years in an attempt to find my fishing. Through the many uncompleted projects, stuff, equipment, books I've purchased to pursue my new-found hobby, I have to say that I haven't found a fishing. What I have found is many mini-fishings. There are many things that I've found I enjoy. None to the caliber of passion that my husband and fishing but I've found my own track in mini-fishings which mean a multiple of things I like to do.
What are your hobbies? Do you have a main passion or many mini-passions that you pursue? I think one of the keys to getting back on track and staying back on track is to find non-food things to dive into. Hobbies can bring so many healthy, non-food satisfaction and gratifies you without the added calories and pounds, yet give you joy.
I'd love to hear about your hobbies. Who knows, we may each find our own fishing from sharing our hobbies with other BOTTers.

What a wonderful reflection!
My "fishing" is playing guitar. I am self taught and decided to buy myself a new guitar about 6 months ago. I am investing in lessons now!! I'm learning so much. Like you, I have many mini fishing hobbies, but guitar and acoustic music has been one of my first loves since I was 10 yrs old.
Hugs,
Ratkitten
