Hello BOTT - On Wednesday I made my 2 year annual post-op visit to my surgeon.Just the thought of visiting his office knowing that I hadn't reached my goal was stressing me out and making me depressed.  When I had my one year post-op visit last year, I was happy and ecstatic when I walked into his office 95lbs. lighter, looking good in the outfit I had chosen and full of confidence.  I walked out feeling like a failure, unsure of myself, emotionally upset and depressed.  It seems that the doctor sounding very disappointed felt as though I should have reached my goal within that years time and been an additional 30lbs. lighter making my total weight loss 125lbs.

My visit this week was a total success...not that I have reached the goal that the doctor set for me but because I tool control of my emotions and was confident enough to let him know how I was feeling and the progress "I felt" that I was making and had made since my last visit.  When I weighed in at the office I had not lost but I had not gained...that's what the scale said, but in reality being
"BACK ON TRACK" I had dropped 7lbs. before my visit.

When I left the doctor's office to celebrate, my Mom and I stopped at Subway's to split a turkey on wheat hoagie..well, let me tell you that I could not eat the damn thing, it tasted awful.  Since being
"BACK ON TRACK" and I don't know how to explain it...my taste buds have changed once again for the better.  I ended up going to McDonald's and ordering a Grilled Bacon Ranch Chicken Salad without the bacon, and I got the Italian LF dressing.  I have lost my taste for pretzels, potato chips, and junk food. The pretzels taste like straw and the chips hurt my pouch....yeaaaaa!

Thank you to my special  angel Lizzy for coaching me, and thank you BOTT for this site and the confidence you've given me to know that I can succeed, and its never to late.

Hi Genie,

Thank you, thank you for your post.  Congratulations and you go!!  Reading your post is a fabulous way to start my day.

It is too bad that your surgeon took the position he did in your appointment.  However, he did you a favor because the next appointment, YOU took CONTROL and informed him of your success, regardless of what he thought.  After all, your success is yours, not his.  I am so happy for you.

I'm happy that the BOTT group has made a difference for you.  I share your feelings too.  I've said it before but this group is so unique and special... because of members like you.

Thanks for sharing YOUR success and the jolt of inspiration.

Go Genie!!!!
Reading success stories about people taking back control of thier lives and making positive choices like you have is inspiring to those of us making the same decisions. I have only been BOTTing for a week but I can already tell that I feel better, have more energy and have a brighter outlook for my future than I have had for the past 1 1/2 years. Keep up the good work and keep us informed of your progress.
