Any Ideas?

First let me say I have called my surgeon and will be seeing him Wednesday.
I started having pain just below my breastbone.  The pain has since moved to my right side under my rib cage and travels to my back some.  The pain gets horrid after eating and sometimes when I drink.  My gall bladder was removed when I had surgery. I dont get so sick I throw up but I do feel a little queasy.  Sometimes the pain takes forever to stop and others it goes in a few minutes.  My right side is tender all the time now.  I ate a Kashi microwave dinner yesterday and thought I was going to die from the pain, I was in tears. The pain is centered under my ribcage on the right side and goes around my side towards my back. My doctor called me in some Carafate (sp) and I have been taking that. Sometimes it hurts when I lay....If I am bent forward it hurts too. Anyone have any ideas?  I have searched the WEB and come up with maybe hiatal hernia?

Are you throwing up?  Be careful of intestinal blockage...I don' t mean to scare you but read this and call  your surgeon and see if they think it could be a blockage.

It may not be anything this serious but you want to be on the safe side...  Please talk to your surgeon about this.

Take care,
Kathy

Hi Kathy...as I said in my original post I am not throwing up.  I do get a little queasy but I havent thrown up.  Its a little better today.  I ate an egg with a piece of wheat toast and didnt have the pain I had been getting through out the week.  I feel the dull pain but not the horrid pain like yesterday.  I plan to call my doctor again Monday if its getting bad again if not then I will discuss all my issues with him on Wednesday.  Thanks for your reply I read the link you posted and I figure if I start throwing up and cant keep anything down I may need to be seen ASAP. For now though I think I will be ok!

Hi!
Just a note...I never threw up and I had a blockage. Don't wait too long with the pain.
Take care,
Deb
