Friday Reflections! Have you ever wanted to die?

Hello Everyone

It breaks my heart to read and talk to members that let their obesity get to the point of where they want to die.  Did you ever feel that way?   Trapped?  Hopeless?  Not worth spit?  Did life make you feel like you were such a failure because you choose food to comfort you.  Did you just want to crawl under a rock and die when people would stare or laugh at you?  How many times have  you heard obese kids say they would rather be dead than be fat?

Most of us have the inner strength to never act on those feelings.  We find a way to fight on and get tough, but there are those that fall into a pit and can't get out.  Not without a helping hand....

If you know of anyone that seems to be depressed and talks about killing themselves due to their weight, please take the threats seriously.  Get them help as quickly as you can.

Sorry for the deep reflection here today but we have to discuss the scary as well as the good, it's reality and if we don't help who will?

Take care BOTT's
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

First, thanks for this Friday Reflection.  I had to run to the dentist this afternoon so I appreciate you taking care of it.....I will next week.

You shared such important information.  We can't take for granted when someone is in deep dispair that they'll be okay and come out of it.  There are many mental health professionals that know about obesity and the surgery that can help.  OH has a Mental Health Professional Advisory Board.  If anyone ever needs a referral, please let me know.

Kathy, thank you for stepping out with your deep reflection.  I assure you that you have touched someone.

Talk to you later My Friend,
Cathy
