ZUMBA Footwear
I had some trouble with my sneakers so here is what I have found. And if you find any sneaker worth sharing… please advise…
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DANCE SNEAKERS (non- split sole): 2) NIKE AIR MAX MELODIC (avg price: $49 – $79) NIKE makes a whole line of dance sneakers. Many Zumba Instructors favor the Air Max or Shox line of Nike sneakers. Beto himself (creator of Zumba) favors the Nike Shox line. I’ve tried many Nike dance sneakers and by far the Melodic is my favorite. Very light and provides excellent support. Keep Nike runs narrow. 3) RYKA STUDIO D LOW or XT (not to be confused with the MID style which is cut higher on ankle) (avg price: $62 - $78 - check for deals) Super lightweight dance sneaker provides: high resiliency, great durability, breathability, heel cushioning, and forefoot pivot point. Very comfortable! RECOMMENDED FOOTWEAR FOR ZUMBA Sneakers should have less treading in the front so you can dance and perform lateral movements but they also should include shock absorption for the heels. Dance sneakers are preferred, but even if you have a pair of Keds, Converse, Addidas to try the class first and then if you like the class you can always get a pair of dance sneakers later on. 1) BLOCH or CAPEZIO DANCE SNEAKERS (avg price: $45 – $75) Note: Formal dance sneakers do run small. The Blochs run 1 size smaller and the Capezios run ½ size smaller. I certainly suggest you try them on for the best fit. Also since the dance sneakers have a split sole, you should try both on to see which feels more comfortable based on your arch. However, very important: be sure to try the dance sneaker on in store and move around in them and be sure to inquire about the store’s return/exchange policy (just in case). And a final note: no running down the stairs with these sneaks…remember the SPLIT SOLE!
