Hi, Kathy:

I appreciate your email! It added a  to kick in the pants for me on things I have been "thinking' about but not do it.

I would like to join your Challenge on the move to Loose thread.  I have gotten lazy with the tread mill lately and also walking outside.  I am committing right now to doing a walk later this afternoon.  I have to go and make a visit to a nursing home first and am a little "dressed up" to do the walking right now.

Where is the Move to Loose thread???? On the over 50 support board????

I am on so many threads now i loose track of what goes where.

Thanks again for your support!

HI Jeane

YOU GO GIRL!!!!

I will post it right here on our Back On Track discussion board.  Monday I will be doing cardio and will post.  Then Tuesday I will head to the gym after 4:00 and will post exactly what/how and how much I do for the weigth training.  You can adjust the workout to your level.

If you don't go to a gym a lot of these things can be done with free weights and or resistance bands.

I know I have been wanning with my food and such so I decided ok, we need a shout out and a kick in the butt right about now!!!!

You know Jeane those 8 weeks will go by so fast and we will be so glad we did this

Take care,
kathy

Hi Jeane,

Anything that gets your heart rate into the fat burning zone.  That can be walking, swimming, bikiing, roller blading...Dancing..

I will be using the treadmill and boxing mostly for my cardio...

Use the following calculation to find out your personal fat burning zone:

Fat Burning Zone = (220-Your Age) x (.75)

Your fat burning zone is basically 75% of your maximum heart rate (MHR). (To quickly gauge your Fat Burning Zone, look at this quick reference chart using your age and 75% column.) You should aim to stay within 10 beats of the number.

So thrilled you will be joining us

Tare care,
Kathy

Hi,

I will be doing my 30 minutes of treadmill in the morning.  I have been letting the speed stay the same all through the 30 minutes.  Now I am going to warm up 10 minutes at one speed, walk faster at the middle 10 minutes and then slow down the last 10 minutes to original speed.  Hopefully that will get some fat to burning!

Don't forget if you can't do fast speeds increasing the incline reallly helps...

Yea, I have nerve damage and will never run fast..but if you increase the incline it's a great workout and helps tighten up your butt as well

I did put up the speed a couple of notches  for the middle 10 minutes and didn't have any real trouble, but knew I had had a workout!
