Saying Hello and Introducing Myself!

Waving hi to everybody.  Oh my I'm so glad to have found this forum!  I've been a member of OH sine 1993 or so, had my RNY surgery in July of 04.  I lost over 150 lbs and managed to hold at 135 for a couple of years, battled transferrence to alcohol for a while, have been sober for a couple of years now and guess what?  I stopped smoking last year and I put on about 25 or so lbs.  I'm a compulsive "shove something into my mouth" kind of gal.  I've also been treated for chronic depression, anxiety disorder and OCD (probably too much info but part of my story and my issues)

So - like many of you, I kicked myself for a while and was down, but then I got busy.  I know that my pouch and stoma isn't ruined, because Chinese food still gets stuck (as do my vitamins sometimes).  My problem has been COOKIES crackers and other bad food.  That and I was getting NO phsycial activity.  So for the past week, I've been exercising and focusing once again on protein, cutting OUT the grazing and eating mini meals instead (by the timer).  I'm still a little concerned that I don't feel full as quickly as I think I should, but I got on the scale today and have lost one pound and 6 oz.  Yeah!

So I'm so grateful for you guys being here to remind me that we have to really keep at this forever - vigilence is key.

So I hope you guys will let me join you in getting back on track!

PS: heading out to the gym now.  :-)

Love and Light!
Michelle

Hi Michelle,
You did find the right place.  We are all here to help cheer you on cheer3od.gif. I found that it's better to maintain my sugar levels if I eat 6 times a day.  Healthy protein, of course!  But I've managed to lose and am feeling so much better.  You can do this!

Hey lady, it's been a long time!  I don't post as much as I'd like with work and family being so busy but do lurk.  It sure it good seeing you, I miss seeing you around.

I know I'm dealing with lots of food issues myself lately, I still can pull the reigns in pretty quickly but it is scary what I can eat, what I sometimes CHOOSE to eat and fighting the demons.

Best wishes to you as you regroup and know that I'm thinking about you and cheering you one.

Hugs,

Hi Michelle,

Cathy and I are so glad to have you here

You are such an inspiraiton with all you have been through and saying to yourself I am not giving up on ME

Try taking in more protein and eating protein first and this may help you with your  hunger.  Since you are working out now you need that protein more than ever....

Come here often and let us help you be accountable and look forward to being right there next to you...

Take care,
Kathy
