So I've been on the slow boat to getting back on track but getting there nonetheless!  I went for my 3 year bloodwork and I was for sure that my iron was going to be low.  I feel tired almost all the time.  I'm one of the weird sleep schedule people anyway but it's like I can't get enough sleep.

So I thought for sure the doctor would say that my iron was low.  Would make sense right?  Well he said my iron was 90 and low is 70 so I'm dead in the middle.  Not low, not high.  So it made me curious as to what are other people's that aren't newbies.  Other than that he said my bloodwork is the picture of health.  Should be great news....so why am I so tired?

I had low iron and I had to have two iron infusions a year ago but I dont recall the numbers like 70 or 90.  All I do know is that I was tired a lot and the infusions I thought helped but I still had and still do have fatigue.  the doc said my tiredness is not caused from the low iron.  He thought I was just doing way too much.  I dont know because I felt as though I was active but not overly active but when I compare my activities now compared to when I was overweight it is tremendous difference.  All I do know is that when I do weight training it drains me a lot throughout the week so I have to watch how much I do during the week.  I have experiemented with it a lot and have come up with no more than once or twice a week and even then really only once a week is good because more than that and I am dragging way too much.  Hope it helps Susan T.  My WLS was in DEc 04

Thanks Susan!  I've wondered if all the running around I do is just catching up with me too.  Seems like one should be able to go nonstop, right?    But I always have in the back of my mind, well what if something is wrong.  I've been so blessed after this surgery to no have any complications other than an ulcer that won't go away.  But maybe I'll switch around some activities and see if that helps!

Good Morning,

My iron levels have always been lowish but when I became preggers, they really dropped and are still very low, I take 2 prescription strength iron pills 3 times a day and have noticed an improvement, I go back to the Dr on the 18th so we will see what he says then...

It could be that you are not getting enough sleep, or believe it or not to much.  Also I notice if I increase my physical activity I tend to be less tired.  Not to freak you out, but my sister was like you for a while and they found out that she had mono, I do not know if that is something that you would want to talk to your Dr about and have him test you...  It is nothing major, just a drag!

Hope that helps!

Yikes, let's hope it's not mono!  But you're right, that's something that would make you drag like crazy!  Thanks

By the way, love your daughter's name, that is adorable!
