Drink plenty of water each day.  Often we think we are hungry when our body is sending us signials that we are actually thirsty or dehydrated.  I fill a 64oz container with water and stick it in my fridge and drink from it throughout the day.  I even fill my water bottle from it. It helps me keep track!

Ask someone who is close to you to be supportive and encouraging of your weight-loss efforts by accompanying you to a support group or joining you in your exercise.  I am going to ask my biggest supporter, my daughter, if she wants to go bowling today!

I always have to check in with myself to see if I have had enough to drink.

I am a support group facilitator and I encourage everyone to bring their support person to group.  I believe it is so important that they know as much as possible about the lifestyle changes our surgery requires if we are to be successful - that way they are able to offer more relevant support and understanding.
