Anyone want to join me?  We can do a weekly thread to support each other. If it's ok w/ Kathy and Cathy. :)

I am on week 1, workout 2.  I'm super excited!! I took measurements this morning and posted them on my blog to watch the changes.  I downloaded a podcast too to help me get thru each workout!

Come people! Let's do this!

ETA: Ok just  some info! Sorry for assuming you guys knew what I was talking about! The Couch to 5K program is a 9 week program that gets you from the couch to running a 5K (3.1miles) by the end.  It starts off easy and you work your way up.  Honestly the first week is kicking my butt but I'm not giving up! :)  It's a walk/jog thing and by the end you are jogging/running the whole thing. I have never ever beena  runner so its interesting to see if I can do this.  I have posted some stuf about my journey on my blog. Also if you google couch to 5k there is a ton of info out there on the web. :)

Week 1 and workout 2 of what?  I've missed something here.  Please bring me up-to date.

And even though I haven't a clue precisely what you're talking about, I sure do congratulate you on your determinate and success

Have a great BOTT Sunday

Hi Amber,

I love the title you gave to this thread.  It caught my attention the minute I checked the board.

I checked the link and it looks like fun.  From having walking pneuo, I'm still "couching" for a little while.  I think it is a great idea.  I'll save the link and when I have the doctor's thumbs up, I'll check it out.

I didn't listen to the podcasts, so I'll ask you.....I'm not into running.  My knees are not so great from being morbidly obese for all those years.  Would it be an okay to walk with the podcasts rather than run?

For you and the other BOTTers that want to Couch to 5k.

Have fun......for now, I'll be cheering you at the finish line!

I would like to join you, Amber!  This is right up my alley, as I want to complete the Tunnel to Towers Race in NY in September.

NY is my home state...have lived in Cali for just about 13 years.  I go home a couple of times during the year and always in September to walk this race for a fallen 9/11 fireman (my family comes from a longline of police and firepersons!)  I made a vow that I would run the race in 2009!!

The Couch to 5K is the perfect program to help me achieve that goal!!

I am going to get started this week.
