Hey Everyone,

I hope you are feeling good this Saturday    If you are like me I will be running around like crazy trying to get everything done this weekend I didn't do during the week

It's hard to fit in time for "YOU" with exercising

Anything you do to move more is great, like walking the entire store, mall or parking far away, taking stairs.  My favorite is just put on some tunes and dance, dance, dance.  Your kids will love it and join you   If they start trash talking your dancing it's throw down time

In honor of the brutal winter most of the country is having here are some winter fun that burns calories we can do

Good afternoon fellow BOTT's

My new exercise is jump rope. To me it's a challenge to do continuously. I can do 2min nearly 3 - working on someday doing 10 minutes. This I do as a challenge. It seems to reach muscles I have not used in a long time.

My standby exercise is treadmill - which i could not do without the IPOD on some Fast beat music and the TV nearby- When I am so bored and want to jump off, I tell myself - Hey it's only walking you can do this.

Also using free weights for my arms. They are toning up but not really losing inches. GRRR I am thinking if I just keep up the reps I will be able to sidestep the need for surgery to remove the excess one day.

The previous message mentioned rollerskating?? Oh I must try that next. I love rollerskating.

What roller skates are you using? I like the old style with four wheels, do you use these?

Hi Cathy,

Welcome to our thread and these are some GREAT suggestions    Thanks for sharing..

You are soooo right about the music.  I have a cardio section and weight lifting section.  For my treadmill it's all Trance Dance, and just when I think I can't take another step BAM, a really fast beat comes and and I am stepping up the pace.

Also, I find when I am getting bored with my treadmill I slow down and raise the elevation.  A totally different workout and muscles...    I will be posting some great workouts for the arms next week so stay tuned    But I will be honest, if you are over a certain age, had more than 100 pounds to loose, and if the skin is really saggy, you will have great muscles for arms but nothing short of PS will really tighten the arms.

Keep up the awesome job you are doing and we hope to see you here posting often...

Take care,
Kathy

For rollerskating we just use the ones at the skating rink.  It was interesting to say the least.  The rink we went to is in a small town, and had an old wood floor, and 3 tree t runks coming out of the middle of the rink.  The walls are all orange/brown shag carpet that has seen better days decades ago, and when they turned down the lights it was really quite dark, hard to see all the kids.  We dont have a rink in our town, so next time we will go to Ft Collins which is like 25 min away, and check out that one. We are also going to try ice skating next time Im off on a weekend.

Hi Vivienne,

Thanks for the reply,

The rink you go to sounds really cool. Shag carpets on the walls - so 80's right.

I found that our local rink has open adult time during the weekdays, I am headed there Tuesday. the rent skates and have the available to buy. I am excited, I figured best to start during the day when the crowd is small.

They have Weekends adult only where they turn it into a roller disco, Maybe I will get my courage up and try that sometime.
