Unwise choices

Good Morning Everyone!

I have been very good about posting my meal plan on the "Cafe and Cardio" thread each day this last week.  And it has really helped me with accountablility.  So in keeping with being accountable, I need to confess to a very unwise choice I made.

Last evening I chose to eat 2 1/2 Biscotti cookies in lieu of the protein bar I had planned for my snack.  Bad! Bad! Bad!  I still did this knowing how bad I react to sugars and white flour.  Well I paid for it until early this morning with the terrible abdominal pain and the dry heaving/foamies.

I try to keep the sugar below 7 grams per serving but if you eat more than one it is not longer one serving or under 7 grams!  All this because I wanted the crunchy dry texture of the cookie.

Will I ever learn?  On reflection, I do not understand why I did this to myself so why did is seem o.k. when I did it?

Well today is a new day with so many opportunities to make good choices.

Have a GREAT day.........................Carrie

If the cookies try to work their magic on you today, throw them in the garbage.  Teach them a lesson

I believe it was the cookies that taught me a lesson!  Don't need them any more....so I will trash them when I get home from work.

Sure you will learn - you just had a refresher course and I'll bet it will be a little longer next time before you get into alien foods (or is that before alien foods get into you? LOL)  That's the way change happens.

I'm glad you trust enough to "confess"  You simply had a mega attack of "human"  You're rso right, today is a new day and you can use what you learned yesterday and make better choices.

I believe in you - now you believe in you

Have some fun today

Hi Carrie,

We all make choices.  Being BOTT doesn't mean perfect.  It means doing your best on any given day or food choice.

Would you have stopped at 2-1/2 Biscotti cookies before?  For me at one time that would been merely an appetizer.  You stopped at just those.  Good for you.

Just remember the feeling of that alien food and appreciate the fact that your body is used to the healthy choices you make and anything with sugars and white flours your body doesn't like.

You are so right - every day is a new day filled with opportunities to make good choices.  Every meal is also filled with the same opportunities too!

I often wonder the same thing~"why do I do that to myself?" We definitely all make mistakes and poor choices from time to time, but I guess making good choices the majority of the time is what's most important. I don't really dump, so I can eat pretty much whatever I want~sometimes I wish sugar had that effect on me so that I wouldn't be as tempted! The most it does to me is makes me super sleepy and irritable. I ate a Fiber One pop tart this past week and I was mad at myself at first~but then I got over it and moved on with a healthy rest of the week. Forgiving yourself is an important thing to do, so now its over and time to put it behind you and move forward! I have at agree with Cathy too~those were just tiny appetizers to us before! When I think back to what I used to eat before wls, WOW, I would never sit down with a pack of Oreos now and polish off a row or maybe even more in 1 sitting! Thank God for WLS!!!!!!!!!!!!
