Back On Track Together
Do You Still Dump....
Got knocked off the track today while out shopping with my grand-daugther, and we ate at Popeye's. I had two pieces of chicken wings and a handful of her gummy bears. OMG! I need to go somewhere and lie down. My heart is racing, I sweating and I'm feeling feel light headed. Two years post-op is this another form of dumping?
OMG!! I have the same thing happen to me when I eat sweets. My heart starts racing, I start sweating, and it knocks me out for a couple of hours. It's like all my energy is gone...and I am so light headed. I take my blood pressure and my pulse is over 100....When this happens I am done for the day...Reba
I'm just over 1 year out and tonight I had 2 teaspoons of peanut butter on a pretzel stick. I dumped.. i got so hot and my heart was a beating. I've had peanut butter before but for some reason today i dumped.
I have various levels of dumping from the clammy sweating to the down right bend over because i'm in pain type of dump (those are very rare for me thank goodness). The tiredness afterward is the killer part, especially when I dump while at work our out and about.
Sorry it knocked you off your feet..

Hi,
I haven't dumped in awhile, but sometimes I get the pre-symptoms. Sweats, blow my nose alot, sneeze alot etc. It is usually caused by eating too fast, not chewing well enough or bad food choices which isn't alot. It is a reminder to me that I'm not who I used to be. Funny... I feel perfectly normal until I eat lol.

Ok, depending on who you talk to, this is not actually a "full" dumping episode but it is what I experience too when I run into something that my pouch doesn't like!
It doesn't happen often because once I have something that does this, I don't have it again for a long while and if it happens a 2nd time then it is off my list completely.
Another thing that I have discovered about myself. If I take the first bite or 2 extra slow. My body does tell me if it is going to upset me or not. I just had to learn to listen. This is more important to me when we are eating out then at home, where I know what I am actually eating.
Even foods that should be ok like omelots when out to breakfast (not IHOP) I have been known to take 1-2 bites and ask for take out box so Hubby can reheat for another meal. Sometimes whatever they use on the grill will bother me.
Also, I am not sure what happens with my sis-in-law. She is very quiet about her surgery and problems. But I do know she is trying to get back on track and she is over 5 yrs out. But at family functions they take home the sweets to eat so that she can enjoy and then dump in private. Her life, but I couldn't enjoy something that I *knew* was going to make me feel rotten after.

Our tool works no matter how far out we are. I am almost 5 years out and especially when I have been eating clean if I fall off the wagon my tool tells me about it. I don't throw up any longer but oh baby I just want to
The key is to listen to our bodies and don't eat that anymore
Take care,
Kathy
