HEY LOOK ME OVER!
I have an avatar!!!! Not being a computer guru (truth be known, I'm barely above a computer illiterate) I asked the ObesityHelp folks to do this for me and that sort of thing is all done by volunteers so it took a little while - but here it is. I'm a real purple freak (even have a bright purple car) so this picture from The Weather Channel photos really jumped out and grabbed me - hope you all like it too.

Hope it doesn't stand out too much - didn't realize I talked so much Oh well, I probably am not going to change LOL and after I've seen it for a while more than likely I won't even notice.
I like the picture because it is bright and cheerful. I use their photos a lot for the background on my computer at work. It's a great source of variety!
I also have fun with the smiley faces available to us here- but does anyone else have trouble seeing exactly what the little creatures look like. There are some I think are charming, but I'm afraid to use them because I'm afraid others can see them more clearly than I and they won't really be conveying what I think they are. (Oh the perils of being 76 )

I LOVE PURPLE TOO!!! It has been my favorite color ever since I was a little girl. When I was a kid, my bedroom was purple. My winter boots and coat are purple...yay! I'm glad you don't live near me, I might have to carjack your car .
I'd like to know how to do the avatar thing myself. I tried to use a pic but no matter how hard I try, I can't get it small enough to upload...guess I will have to have the OH people do mine too.
Thanks for the encouraging words...I really like the part where you said I only had to have motivation for one minute at a time...that seems like it might be something I can do.
And to Cathy, I think your suggestion will be very helpful too. The first goal I have set is to get at least 60 g protein daily because I know I haven't been getting it. Today I had a protein shake made with skim milk for breakfast, some chicken, a little salad and some diet pudding for lunch, another protein shake w/milk for a snack, some deli turkey and cheese on a piece of 15 grain toast for supper. But, I had a moment of weakness mid-late afternoon and had a serving of Special K with skim milk and some graham crackers. I guess I could have done worse, but I was hoping to do better. I didn't count my pro but think I am/was close. Maybe I will have a pro snack before bed just to make sure.
