Back On Track Together
Hey BOTT's, Did You Move To Lose Today?
Hey Everyone
It's snowing so hard you can't see outside the windows and it's so cold they are asking people to not go out and they even have a Pet alert. Ok, I should have taught my dog to use a kitty box
I am not going out in this cold so I am working out at home
My workout is 3 miles on the treadmill, and doing my core work on the exercise ball. I did tummy crunches front center, sides, planks and bicycles.

Kathy,
I hear you with the snow. This is my second day home with a stomach bug so I venture from the bathroom to the couch, to the bathroom, etc. My lab who loves snow just went out and immediately returned. You really have to love the winter to live here.
We have a gym in the courthouse where I work and on Monday I learned about all the equipment. If I go back tomorrow, I will take my work-out clothes and get busy. There is every piece of equipment you can imagine and I cannot wait. I will start with the treadmill and then use resistance machines. I grew to like the leg press after my knee replacement and I cannot wait to start again. I cannot believe that this is coming from my fingers -- me exercising?
Thanks so much for your post. I look forward to being a part of this group.
Paula.

Hey Paula,
Ok, I have no business complaining because what ever we get here in IL you guys get 10 times more... You have my sympanthy
WAY TO GO Be sure and let us know how it goes tomorrow... Take it slow and do your resistance first and then cardio.
Keep us posted on how you do.
Take care,
Kathy

I've never been one for exercise, and now I know I need to do something... I just hate hate hate it all.... I don't even like walking for exercise.
I have started a more active admin position in that there is quite a bit of walking involved - but it is still essentially sedentary. I also catch the train to work which is a half or so mile walk in each direction each day - but it is not enough! I know I need to do more.
I've never been one of those ra-ra types.
I have two friends that are helping keep me motivated with the eating side of things - but neither of them are big on exercise either
So what do I do :(

Great question and I soooo know how you feel. WE all hate exercise but know in our hearts it is key to losing and maintaining the weight.
Here are a couple of suggestions. For now, let's do things that don't seem like you are exercising. Go to Wal-Mart and get a step counter. They are inexpensive and wear it everyday. Work your way up to 10,000 steps a day. Every step you take will count towards your goal and make you feel good about what you are doing. Take the stairs, park far away, when you go to the mall walk around the entire mall. Hit all the isles in the grocery store...stay out of the trigger food ones.
Talk to your friends, and ask what they like to do? Do they like to dance? Do they like to swim? What would be fun, fun, fun? That is the key, to find something fun and you won't feel like you are working out... Put some music on and dance around the house...
Keep us posted ok? We are here to help you all the way!!!
Let me know this works for you and if it doesn't then we will go to plan B
Take care,
Kathy
