Back On Track Together
How do you see it?
For eons humankind has accepted as truth that The Shortest Distance Between Two Points Is A Straight Line (most likely cave dwellers had that figured out) If that is, indeed, true it's a no brainer for us that from Point 1 - What we weigh now to Point 2 - our goal weight, the shortest distance is 3 - A straight line = being on track.
So, regardless of whether we are much closer to goal weight, same distance from goal weight, a bit (or a lot) farther from goal weight this morning than we were yesterday morning the truth is that the shortest (and the fastest - however long it takes) route to goal weight is to stay on track today. Today is a new day and all things are possible to those who believe - and that means those who believe all things are possible and believe in themselves. I believe in each and every one of you - now, please, believe in yourself.
How we see it is how it is for us --- how we see it depends on how we thing --- how we think determines how we feel. If we want to change how we feel we have no choice but to change how we think.
Try this little experiment with yourself: I know today my schedule will not allow me to walk (so I will cut down a bit on my caloric intake today - see how I think determined what I will do --- and I feel good about taking care of myself) But more than that. Stop and think (and tune in to how you are feeling) For purposes of this experiment, you are no different than I - there are days you simple are NOT IN THE NOTION of exercising!!!! OK - here we go Think: My schedule will not allow me to exercise Then Think: I don't have to exercise Feel any different
Most of us are rebels enough to not like to be told we are not allowed to do something - we usually respond by thinking "I want to do it anyway" but if we think we're getting out of something, particularly if we can figure out a way to cast it in a guilt free way, we respond by thinking "Goody goody I'm off the hook" and we aren't even motivated to do what is in our best interest. The choice of how we think about things is ours. Others can invite us to think in a firm and loving way but no one can make anyone else think, do or feel anything, we can only invite others. It is up to the invitee (is t here such a word?) whether or not they accept our invitation.
So, I invite you one and all to believe in yourself, monitor your thoughts and behavior, and feel good about yourself all day and all night long. Give and receive support. We are all in this together and when one of us succeeds, we all succeed. WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER.
OK - I'll get off my soap box LOL Just wanted to share my thoughts and beliefs with you
Have a very fine day, my friends

Hi Happylapbander,
Well said! We choose how to see things. Good reminder for today, tomorrow and the future.
I'm going to stay aware of my thoughts, keep checking in with my emotions and stay on track!
Thanks, Cathy

Thank you. I certainly enjoyed reading that with my present day situation. I had great plans for exercise and such but now my daughter is home sick from school and all my plans have changed in an instant!
Now I will rethink my day and how it can work best for her and I!!

So glad I could be of help. You helped me so much yesterday. Sometimes the tail wags the dog.
I know you will do well. Please take very good care of yourself. We can't pour out of an empty pitcher - if you don't get your needs met (and one of your needs is to have a BOTT day) then you simply don't have the resources you need to take care of others.

Thanks. I am really beginning to think I can actually do this. It's been such a long time sine I really have been putting in the true effort needed to continue toward my goals. I have just been coasting along and have gotten no where fast. No realgain but no loss. I really want my BMI to get out of the 30's.
