Back On Track Together
Introduction
Hi
My name is Deb I live in Minnesota with my DH and 14 year old DS. I had an open RNY on 11/14/06 my highest weight was 298, my lowest was 156 and currently I’m 178. I really like the 165 range and would like to get back to that if not lower.
I started taking Lyrica for my Fibromyalgia right before Christmas so I’m not sure it was just the Lyrica or the holidays and lack of exercising that led to part of my weight gain.
Also one of the things Lyrica did for me was take away my feeling full meter, so the only way I know I’m full is that I’m miserable so I’ve really had to start paying attention to portion size.
I’m currently trying to get myself back on track. I am scheduled to have my knee replaced on February 2 so I’m obviously not going to be able to exercise and I am worried about my eating though my DH said that won’t be a problem when he is feeding me he just won’t bring me the food. I’m not thinking this is not going to help him stay alive though. LOL
I have a very strong support network of other bariatric patients and have formed some really wonderful friendships. We have a coffee group that meets every Saturday. We were actively exercising 2 to 3 times a week but again the holidays got in the way.
I recently started drink Diet Dew again which I wish I would of never added back in. I still get my fluids in but am obsessed with pop again.
I do always take my vitamins and get in enough protein. I eat way too many carbs
Thanks again for forming BOTT I think this is just what I need.
Hi Deb,
A great big BOTT welcome to you. All of us are working on goals that are important to us to get back on track. If Diet Dew/pop is your focus right now, we're here for you.
It sounds as though you've got a great support system which, as you know, is so important. Now you have BOTT to add to that.
We have a daily accountability thread that we post our food and exercise (or acknowledge no exercise) that really helps a lot of us. I post it every morning and it is entitled the day of the week - BOTT Cafe and Cardio. I hope you'll feel free to join us. It sure has helped me!
