Back On Track Together
Did You More To Lose Today? Back On Track with Exercise!
Hey Everyone
We know exercise is good for us, we know it's key to losing weight and keeping it off, but most of us just HATE IT Or just don't know where to start Here are some suggestions for getting back on track with exercise
Recognizing it's important and you want it in your life is the first step
Stop beating yourself up for not exercising and or getting off track
Go back and think of common denominators that threw you off, like were you tired at the end of the day? Was it to hard to get up in the morning? Make changes to address these road blocks.
Write it down on a calender, plan your workouts in writing, commit
Plan your workouts, if you signed up for dance, plan what days you feel you will get there. If you are working out at a gym plan your routine. If you can afford it, get a PT to get you back on track
Take action! If you can't go to a gym then make plans to work out at home. Do you need any equipment to do so? Wal-Mart has great prices on simple tools like the exercise ball and light weights. Watch FiTV, they have all kinds of different WORK OUTS. Get a step counter, Heart Rate Monitor, what ever equipment you feel will help you get back on track and stay on track.
If you have not worked out in awhile, then when you do get back you are going to hurt EVERYWHERE Don't let that get you down, but use it as motivation that you are BACK
Baby Steps - if you try to do to much to soon you can injure yourself and or just burn out fast
Come here to this thread daily and be accountable and post what you did, what worked and what didn't. We are here to help and 2009 will make you look and feel FINE
Anything you do to MOVE TO LOSE AND OR MAINTAIN will pay off BIG TIME
Stay Strong, Sexy and Sassy
Take care,
Kathy

Hey Kathy,
In my continuation of my committment to myself THIS year that included resuming a workout schedule. For me that includes 3 times a week walking 3-4 miles and also walking 1 mile on my break everyday!!
I have decided to treat my workout JUST like I would my probation period on a NEW job. So rain or shine, sick or well I just HAVE to do it!! I am in this for the long haul and it just does my heart good when I go for my walk in the morning with my girlfriends and I see old people doing their walk to. I want to be like them!!
Today was my 1 mile walk =)

I am so proud of you and a little jealous, because you live in cali and we have snow up the butt. Remind me to smack my DH for us relocating here years ago
This is a great plan and please keep us posted.. As time progresses you may want to add some resistance work outs as well. But I love the fellowship you bring to your walks, a chance to say hey to your neighbors and I am sure they love seeing that wonderful smile of yours
Keep up the great job you are doing...
Take care,
Kathy

I love my walking poles! I want to get a pair for my husband and my daughter but I'm having the devil of a time finding them Have checked Target stores in three areas of the country - north Florida - mid Indiana and South Bend Indiana - there are none available in any of these locations. So, went to the web site and they said Sears and Meijers were also retailers for their product. So far have not been able to find any in areas where those stores are. Also send the company (Sportline) an e-mail asking where I could purchase the poles - hope to have a message from them this evening when I get home. Will keep you all posted.
I don't kow if one actually burns 45% more calories using the poles than when walking without them - but I believe I do burn some more. I also have much better posture when I use them. I am better entertained as I concentrate on my poles and not on whether or not I'm in the notion of walking. They make walking more of an adventure.
My husband has bone and joint pain when he walks and we believe the poles will be a great help for him.
So, in short, I am a great fan of the poles and am on a vigorous quest to find a source to purchase them.

Hope your have better luck finding them than I have had so far! Surely the company will respond to me e-mail and I will be able to get them. Want to share this with my local support group, but there's no point if they can't have someplace to purchase them.
If you find them, I think you'll like them.
