Tuesday - BOTT Cafe AND Cardio

Cathy W.
on 1/12/09 9:12 pm
Hi BOTTers,

Our daily Cafe and Cardio includes our exercise, activity, movement, etc.  As all of us know, food and exercise go hand in hand for our ultimate success in developing healthy habits.

When you post your "Cafe" food part, also share your "Cardio" exercise too.  Even if you don't have any exercise to share, that's okay.  No shame or guilt if we don't have the cardio part down.  Share if you have exercised or share with us if you don't too.  Point is that we check in with ourselves and our fellow BOTTers.

So.....that being said - I haven't exercised!!  I'm still really struggling with my walking pneuomonia so I'm grounded still.

I'll also check in too.....I had a bit of a scare last night.  I had a difficult time catching my breath.  With my pneuo, that's expected yet it still was pretty scarry.  I went to bed but it shook me up.  Stupidly, I got up in the middle of the night concerned if I could breathe.  I didn't "go for it" but I had a less than healthy snack of some potato chips and four raspberry malted milk balls.

The great news is that I've been on track long enough that I feel gross today.  My stomach hurts from eating just that little bit.  My system recognizes the junk as alien food and not my normal healthy food intake.  As I've shared here with all of you, to me, the day after indulging is the most important one.  Getting right back on track without creating a second day of indulging or pushing it with my food choices is the most important.  So today, I'm right back on track!

CARDIO:  None

FOOD:
B - 1/2 cup of cottage cheese
S - Vegetable strips or green beans
L - Turkey and White Cheddar Kruncheez
S - Turkey jerky
D - Morningstar soy sausages
S - Power Crunch bar (vanilla)

Thanks for being here for me.  It makes me feel better sharing it with you.

I'm still not supposed to do any exercise for 2 more weeks and it's starting to make me a little crazy.  I'm 4 weeks out today from a lower body lift.  Yesterday, I thought a little recumbant bike wouldn't hurt but after 10 minutes, I could tell I was starting to swell.  So, NO exercise for a few more weeks.

But!!

FOOD:
B - Muscle Milk Light Chocolate Mint with coffee
S - 1/2 grapefruit
L - 4 oz. Turkey, radishes, 1/2 banana
S - 12 almonds
D - Crab cake, baby carrots
S - Muscle Milk Light protein bar

Good grief, Kathy - we get addicted to breathing - no wonder you sought out some other life comfort food.  I think it's spectaular that you ate such a small amount of alien food and I celebrate with you it made you miserable.  No, I'm not so sadistic I want my friends to be miserable, but you have made it a motivator to get right back on track.  Good for you

I hope people are not so digusted with my denial lies (my WE DID IT morning post today) that they want nothing to do with me!    but I'm sad to say it's who I am

Hi Happylapbander,

You always know just the right thing to say....thanks!

Thanks for your comment about making it a motivator to get right back on track.  Thanks.  It is really weird because it was pretty easy to do.  I can't tell you how much my stomach hurt from the alien food.

I think I can speak for your BOTT friends, no one is disgusted with you even a teeny tiny bit.

Thanks for being a BOTT.

Cathy

Yesterday ended not so good for my family.  My sister-in-law who is a year younger than I am had a stroke.  She is not heavy and has never had a eight problem but does have trouble with high blood pressure.  She is going to make a full recovery,  with some therapy for slight slurred speach and weakness on one side.  It was scarry for us all.

I pretty much followed the plan I had but grabbed a few marshmellows that were on the ciunter without thinking, while listening to my husband on the phone.  I put them out of sight.

B - Oatmeal
S - Banana w/peanut butter
L - South Beach meal replacement bar
D - Stouffers Baked Chicken Dinner with 1/4 cup mashed potatoes
S - Popcorn

Susan,
Sorry about the scare w/ your s.i.l., but it sounds like there is a plan in place for her recovery.  I just wanted to say I think you did a great job of not using food as a stress-reliever!  A few piddly marshmellows are pretty minimal, under the cir****tances!

Always,
Jo
