When most of us are being wheeled into the surgery room we are scared to death....  But it's death we are trying to avoid.  Most of us do this to get healty and survive, to be there for our kids and loved ones.

Did you find along the way, your example you set benefited your family? If so how?  Did they start to eat healthier, walking with you, biking, swimming?

After I lost my weight, my son didn't want to be out done by his Mom and lost weight and joined a gym and is now body building.....

As we are all getting Back On Track Together, let's not forget the postive life long effect we can have on others in our lives...Now that is motivation

Keep up the great work you are all doing

Take care,
Kathy

My daughter who had extremely serious health problems gained a lot of weight while she had to take steroids.  She has been under treatment at Mayos (Rochester, MN) for several years.  She had lost significant amounts of bone in her pelvis - one leg were attached only by muscles and tendons and she faced knee surgery.  Her bones were breaking without any cause - well, of course there was a cause, but it was not any physical movement on her part.  They began treatment with mega doses of vitamins and minerals and she slowly improved in that her bones were no longer breaking spontaneously.  Because she watched my success with bariatric surgery, she eventually convinced Mayos to perform surgery on her.  She had the bypass.  She has lost over 100 pounds although water therapy has been all her body will tolerate up to now.  In what I believe is nothing short of a miracle, she is beginning to grow some pelvic bone and her knee pain is so much less she most likely will never need surgery.   You bet, my surgery has had an impact on my family's health!!!
