Back On Track Together
Weekends
I don't seem to have any problems when I'm at work - I take my vitamins, drink my water and do my protein but then the weekend comes along and I forget I had WLS. I do get in most protein but the water and vitamins are tough. Why don't I remember on the weekends???? I even tried setting my cell alarm but I usually forget to actually set it. AND to top it off I gained 2 pound!
HELP!!!
HELP!!!
Hi,
Do you have your supplements in daily containers? That might help. Then you could put one next to your purse or in it or near something you use everyday. I have an alarm set on my cell phone that reminds me. I occasionally slip too though. I go through phases where I laps but they aren't as frequent as they used to be. I guess I finally got a routine going. Water, I have to have it! I feel thirsty most of the time. I get the bottled water and put them in the frig. I grab one one the way out the door, or when I sit at the computer etc.

I know for me the weekdays are easier because I have structured time and more of a schedule. The weekends are less structured which, of course, is a good thing for us overall but it can present a challenge for keeping the habits you have during the week.
I will bring my vitamins with me in a small ziploc bag in my purse and that helps. I will also bring my daily vitamin holder too and that also helps.
With water, I generally have one with me wherever I go. Whether I'm sitting at my computer or on the run doing something, I'll have my water bottle. There's a saying that you can tell a successful wls patient because they always have a water bottle close by. Maybe trying to remember that will help too.

I also have problem staying on track on weekends. That are the days that I also get sick more often from foods that I either ate too much, too fast or the wrong ones for me.
As for vitamins - I do use 2 7-days containers, and on top of that I always have a 1-2 day worth of vitamins in my purse (chewable) so when I remember that I have not taken any that day (when running around on weekends) I just grab them then and there (like in a car) and that way I do not forget to take them later.

I agree!! Weekends are very unstructured for me. Both Saturday and Sunday I ended up feeling like total crap because of the foods that I ate. I'm very thankful for this board because I've started tracking my food and exercise and it has helped me tremendously. I was eating way too many calories and didn't even realize it.
