Back On Track Together

Did this backwards

Well I posted yesterday and never really introduced myself.  I had open RNY on 9/15/05 when I was 32.  At the time I weighed 287 and I am 5'10.  I worked out a couple times a day and was very diligent about eating correctly.  My lowest weight was 134.  At that point I had people telling me who sick I looked or asked if I was anerexic.  I started trying to get more calories in and everything went downhill from there.  I would say that was about a year and a half ago.  I have gained about 30 pounds since then, and I am VERY scared that this is the beginning.  On top of that I started working at a hospital this year and had a positive PPD test and I have never had one before so they put me on medicine to prevent me from getting hepatitis.  The only catch with that is that I could not take my vitamins while I was taking it for a year.  I should have called my doctor when I started taking this new medicine, but I had informed the doctor that I had RNY.  I am not very anemic and feel like crap most of the time.

Anyway January 2 I stopped drinking soda again and have been exercising for at least 20 minutes once a day if not twice.  But I am having a very hard time finding the energy I need.  I am going to see the doctor Thursday and maybe he can help me out a little.  My goal is to get back down to 145 again and thus far it isn't going very well- but I am trying.  I am so glad there is this site to have people help me.

Hi Maddiebug,

I'm glad you posted.  Type away anytime about anything going on with you.

You've had quite a year for sure.  I'm glad you're going to the doctor on Thursday so you can find out the information you need.  Giving up soda is a huge thing and I congratulate you for that.  Your exercise is also great.  All you're missing is getting on track with your vitamins so you know what you're needing and can give it to your body for your optimum health.  I hear from your post that you are motivated to get everything in track for you to move forward to 145.

If you're comfortable sharing, please let us know what your doctor says.

Just remember, you lost it once and you can do it again.  145 is yours!

CONGRATULATIONS on your dedication and efforts to getting back on track

I, too, am glad you will be seeing your dr.  I know for me B-12 is vital for maintaining my energy level and if I could not take it, I'd be in a heap of trouble.  Hopefull you will soon be able to include your vitamins in you daily intake.

I believe you will find the folks here extremely caring and supportive - I have.  Thank you for allowing us to share in your journey.

Have a good day
