Back On Track Together
Friday Reflections!
This is only my second BOTT day, so I can't really report too much :) I do know that yesterday was a MUCH better day for me - I've been sick an awful lot the last 6 months, and I am breaking that cycle as of NOW!
I feel good today - and am about to go and ge****er and some healthy snacks for the day :)
Thank to the group - I would be struggling without it :)
I have had a very good week considering I have a bit of a stomach bug and had a bad cold. I have walked every day 2 miles and am eating better and better. Lots of water, protein and almost no simple carbs( except for those 3 prppermint patties the other day , little bump in a big ole road). Most of all I look forward to the fight every day. Once again I am beginning to feel strong in mind and body. I am not and refuse to be a victim to my past and my size. I really believe that you can never never never give up. If you do you lose and he/she/ it/ they win. All of us have taken a hard and lifelong road we are not losers we are BIG LOSERS .
Onward and Upward

I made the decision to focus on weight training in the morning and work in cardion 3x a week this month. So I worked biceps/triceps/shoulders/chest on M, W, F for 40 minutes and worked legs and abs on T/Th. I managed a walk on Tuesday and I'm doing water aerobics tomorrow with a friend so 5X weight training and 2X cardio so far, but I plan on a walk on Sunday.
Eating has been pretty good this week. The night snacking was eliminated and I really got back on track with my fluid intake. Now I just need to work on the supplements. That's the last key for me. Being consistent.
Had my 1 year appointment with my surgeon and my labs were in his words..."PERFECT".
Who can ask for any better news than that??? Guess being so neurotic about my supplements paid off.
This reply is actually my 1st BOTT posting! I am planning on really joining in with everybody on Mon. with daily posts (I am leaving in the morn. for the wkend), but I have been lurking this past week. I normally hang out on the Grads board, but now I am adding the BOTT board as an extra much-needed support!
I didn't have a great week, but I had a "fairly decent" week, which is a great improvement compared to how off-track I'd gotten! I walked outside once and went to the gym 3 times (hadn't been there for many months). I am so out of shape; I only made it for 30-35 min. each time I went, but I know that will get better.
I also did much better with my eating. Still having problems with night grazing, but overall I made good food choices for most of the day. Even though I still had too many calories every day, I mainly concentrated on eating healthy, "real" food (as opposed to the crap I had been continually snacking on), even if it meant eating it too many times. When I grazed, I tried to make it better quality grazing! (Had a couple total failures.)
I did lose 2 lbs., which is fine (but at this weight is really negligible); I know I've got to get more serious in order to tackle my re-gained weight.
This site is a wonderful idea, and I'm very grateful for it!
Always,
Jo
Went to the gym 3 times this week - the exercise feels great. I was REALLY tired when I went on Thursday but after a couple of machines I noticed I was wide awake - cool feeling
I have a very hard time with water and vitamins. When I remember I set the alarm on my cell phone to remind me to take my calcium. I don't have any problems with the multis. Then half the day goes by and I realize I haven't drank much water. It takes real discipline, any suggestions would be helpful.
I don't have a local support group that I can attend so I rely heavily on OH, thanks for this group!!
