I am Carla. I had the VSG 2 years ago at the end of this month and lost just shy of 100 lbs.
I have been living with the sudden death of my mother and my home was destroyed in Hurricane Ike. We were living in the garage with no kitchen or bathroom and when we finally got some insurance money my contractor ran off with it and left us in the garage. My Dr said I was suffering from Post Tramatic Stress Syndrom( severe panic attacks, not sleeping, no energy, reclusiveness, feelinh helpless and somewhat hopeless. I lost my way and gained 6 lbs and have been gone from OH too.
I have persevered and by the grace of God I have come through the blackness and I am back.We are now living in a beautiful garage apartment in back of the house and repairs( improvements are underway in the real house).
I am on track again and expecting a very good 2009. I have even been able to get my little travel agency up and walking( soon to be up and running).
So here's to us and I am looking forward to being a member of this group.

Hi Carla,

First - WELCOME TO BOTT!  You're in the right place.  Even though we recently started this group, we have a very special group of members.

You have come through a lot in a short period of time.  Congratulate yourself (as I am) that you are on track again.  I'm glad you're with us to continue being on track.

Carla...bless your heart...I am so sorry for what you went through. I was still living in Texas when Ike came through...Nacogdoches.
We just had to deal with no water or electricity for a week. Boy was I glad to get back up here...North Dakota.  We might get snowed in but by the Grace of the Good Lord maybe we won't have to live through a hurricane!!!
I am so glad that you have made your way through it...you can pat yourself on the back for that because that kind of trauma takes a special strength...look at me...I ran...LOL!!!
I'm glad your here...Linda
