OK, I admit the yummy what's in your tummy didn't do it for me either.  OK, OK, I am having a brain fart

What do you want to call our daily food thread?  I feel being accountable with food and exercise is key...  I need your help...put out the word

I did pretty well today, still experiencing the withdrawal headache...

Oatmeal with vanilla whey protein
2 small oranges
Lean beef roll ups
Apple with peanut butter
Grilled chicken, 1/2 baked sweet potato, green beans
Will have my night snack of Fage yogurt with apples and SF cinnamon syrup

So my friends, what did you eat today?  And please help me come up with a food thread name

Take care,
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

I just joined today and I will start tomorrow on keeping track on what I eat.  It has been a real long time since I actually wrote down what I ate and I know that is part of the problem with me gaining over the past year.  I was wondering if there was a website that can be used on keeping track of foods, calories, etc such as fitday that can also be used while away from home on a blackberry?  It has been so long fitday even looks different.

Also what is your oatmeal with protein recipe from above, did you just add the powder?

Thanks
Dana

Hi Dana,

welcome! i am right there with you, it has been months since i have tracked my intake, and i know that it has been a huge part of my re-gain. i use www.thedailyplate.com it is the easiest site i have used and i believe that it can be accessed on a blackberry.

Good Luck!

Hi Dana,

Here is a list of links for the most popular websites for tracking food, water and exercise.  I use TheDailyPlate.

www.thedailyplate.com

www.myfooddairy.com

www.sparkpeople.com

www.my-calorie-counter.com

www.myfitnesspal.com

www.fitday.com

As far as using them wiht a blackberry, I am not sure..

I am so proud of you, baby steps remember.  And this one is key.  I have been tracking my food for 2 days now and it really makes me stop and think before I eat anything.

We need to get back to that mindset we were in when we first had our surgery...

Great job  Keep up the great work.  I am lovin all the positive energy here in this group

Take care,
Kathy

Oops, forgot to tell  you about the oatmeal.  I use the long cook oatmeal and or Steal Oats.  Then I put a little butter spray in them and some splenda and a scoop of isopure, whey protein.  It's key to use isopure as it's very fine and melts in  your food.  You don't have that gritty taste.  Also, it adds to the flavor.

The best brand I found was at my gym LifeTime Fitness...

I add this to my yummy yogurt night treat and it's so creamy you don't know it's there.

Take care,
Kathy

hey Kathy,

I'm at a loss for names for the thread, but i wholeheartedly agree with being accountable here. And I'm totally feeling the withdrawal headache thing as well, damn sugar and caffeine

so here goes...

today i have had the following

1 16oz non-fat pumpkin pie latte
1 12 oz bottle of Safeway clear sugar free wild cherry water
1 med banana
1/4 cup low-fat refried black beans mixed with grilled chicken breast chunks
for dinner i have a homemade beef stew brewing in the crock-pot that has leftover pot roast, carrots, fingerling potatoes, onions and mushrooms in a vegetable stock.
I'll probably have my usual dry cheerios as a evening snack
I'll also get in more water tonight.

have a good night everyone,

Lori

hey Kathy,

my protein intake sucks, i know it, and i need to get back on my shakes. i have been off of them for about 9 months and i am having a hard time talking myself into drinking them again i just need to do it.
that will be my goal for tomorrow, make a shake and actually drink it.
