I missed the kick off of BOTT - but I'm here now and I'm thinking we need a daily Gym posting......

So gang, what did/will you do to Move it Move it, today?

Me?  After two weeks of absolutely nothing I did 40 mins on the recumbent bike and now my thighs would like a little cheese with their whine...... LOL

Hi Karen,

What a fabulous idea.  Thanks for your post.

Congratulations on your 40 minutes on the recumbent bike.  That's a workout!

Unfortunately I'm sick and I've had a very difficult time kicking it.  So, for today, I'm moving very little - resting and taking it easy.  Although it feels a little guilty and somewhat boring, that is self-care and it is obviously what I need to do now.

My husband bought me a Wii Fit for Christmas.  It won't be my main source of exercise but it sure is fun.  It brings out the competition of beating my prior scores.  Also, my sons like trying to up their mom.  It is a very fun way to spend time with your family and get in a little bit of activity too.

Thanks again for your post!

Hi Karen!  (The Papaya Queen?)

I KNOW exactly how you feel - I did the same thing about a month ago, which gave me an 'excuse' to stay home the day after, and the day after that, and the whole week after that, and then the whole month.... I am sure you get my drift.

I LOVE the recumbent bike and like a good soldier, went today (again) -- for the 3rd time this week!   Currently doing stretches (LOTS of them); 7 minute warm up on the bike; 30 minutes full-cardio; 2 minute cool down and more "after" stretches.

My back feels BETTER (had 2 discs replaced by 6 titanium screws on my lower back last June) - believe it or not, I am planning on going back tomorrow and taking Sunday "off".

Okay, Miss Papaya Queen...   You have a good day.

O.K. I am going to be honest here... I have not exercised in months!!!  But...tomorrow I start BOOTCAMP!!!  It is an 8 week program and we will meet 6 days a week.  This is my punishment for being such a slacker.  Wish me luck!

Hi Karen,

Thank you for taking the initiative and acknowledgment that exercise is KEY to success.  It was suggested we combine the accountability for food and exercise in one thread.  What do you think?  If you think it's a great idea, PLEASE help us come up with a great name....

Thanks and great job getting back working out.  It's going to be painful for awhile, but worth it in the long run.

Take care,
Kathy
