Back On Track Together
If you just joined, here is a welcome PM that was sent out
Happy 2009 and welcome to BOTT (Back On Track Together). Cathy and I are so thrilled!. As you read, Cathy has been there done that and we are going to look to her big time to help us find our way back. What does that mean? Anything you want it to....you may be struggling with eating, exercise, taking your supps..what ever it is BIG or small, we want you to feel this is a "safe" place to come and work it out.
Cathy and I feel strongly this group has to be about finding our way through the "reasons" for us getting off track. This isn't going to be a place to come and find a magic eating plan, exercise plan to drop 10 pounds fast. We do believe getting back to the basics is key.
We are putting together a group of Back To Basics docs for your reference. As I was doing my research, I was like, oh yea, I knew that Oh yea, I am not doing that We are going to do our best to have them up as soon as possible, hang in there
For this holiday weekend here are some suggestions for taking those first steps to Getting Back On Track
**Start journaling again, about what you are feeling and eating (be honest as that is the only way to identify where you are getting off track). We know it's all about that
**Get rid of the bad carbs/foods that have found their way in the house. I know, you don't have a clue where they came from But say bye bye If you have family that will not be eating clean then make a space for your food. Remember how you did it when you were a newbie? Yep, that is what we need to do again.
**Get on the scale and take measurements. I know it's hard, but I am going to be there doing it also... We can do this!!! Don't tell anyone, don't post the details. Why not? Because we need time to work through the feeling of shame. You know the feeling of failure...we SWORE we would never be here again. We have to deal with these feeling to be successful and Cathy and I are here to do the work with you. I have had a few days of that feeling, and now I am moving to just plan MAD Mad can be good
**Take pictures, yea I know what you are saying...but they can be a powerful tool for getting Back On Track!
Let every step you take in dealing with your getting Back On Track empower you....hell people we did this before and we can do it again This time we are going to work hard to identify why we are here. We need to make sure we will not repeat the bad choices EVER AGAIN
Let's Rock n Roll BOTTs
Happy New "Me" Year,

OH MY GOSH...I'M HOME!!! LOL
YOU WANT TO HEAR SOMETHING TOTALLY CRAZY? TILL ABOUT 6 DAYS AGO I HAD ACCEPTED THE FACT I WAS JUST GOING TO BE FAT AND THAT WAS THAT! I HAD DONE THE MOST DRASTIC THING A PERSON COULD DO TO LOSE WEIGHT...AND 8 YEARS LATER I HAD GAINED 70 POUNDS BACK...THAT WAS IT...I WASN'T GOING ON SOME DAMNED DIET...BEEN THERE DONE THAT BOUT 25 OR 30 TIMES...DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS ANY SUCH THING AS REVISIONL SURGERY...SO...I FIGURED I JUST HAD BAD FAT KARMA OR SOMETHING! NOW I HAVE FOUND SOME ANSWERS...FOUND OUT MY POUCH IS STILL FUNCTIONING AND I HAVE THE SAME TOOLS TO LOSE THE WEIGHT AND I HAVE ALREADY STARTED. I FEEL BETTER THAN I HAVE IN FOREVER AND I AM READY TO FORGIVE MYSELF FOR GAINING...LETS GET TO THE LOSING PART NOW...WELL...FOR ME ANYWAY...LOL. I WAS MADDER THAN HECK WHEN I CAME TO REALIZE AFTER ALL THIS TIME THAT I REALLY DIDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW MY POUCH WORKED, I HADN'T BEEN EDUCATED BY MY SURGEON AND HIS TEAM. OVER THE LAST DAY OR SO I HAVE COME TO REALIZE I LET MYSELF DOWN BY NOT ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS ETC-CETRA. WELL...OK THEN...HERE I AM AND I AM JUST THANKFUL...I FOUND THIS PLACE AND I AM BACK ON TRACK...AND THIS TIME I AM GOING TO WORK HARD TO STAY ON TRACK...THANKS YALL...LINDA
I have found that this is the hardest thing for me to do! Yet, I shouldn't have let myself think that I needed forgiven. I keep trying to remember that "it happened, I am dealing with it now and move on" Otherwise, I am afraid that guilt will overwhelm me and I will regain cause I am such a failure. I don't think that all the time but it creeps in and I really have to work at pushing it out.
As for letting yourself down, no you didn't let yourself down, your surgeon did! I don't know how things worked back when you had your first surgery, but you are not the only one I have talked to from that time that has mentioned lack of education on the ins and outs. Like everything else, things improve with time so educational issues may not have seemed important then.
I actually met a woman on vacation that had surgery back when and she had never gotten to goal. She too didn't even know 1/3 of the things that I had learned pre-surgery, let alone what I have learned here at OH. I suggested she check us out, don't know if she did but.
So try to ease up on yourself, as I try telling myself, the past is over and done with, tomorrow is another day and today is well named, it is a present to enjoy and do with what we want (paraphrased from something else but I like it)
We can stay on track today, together!
Thanks so much for your reply...it helps alot!!! Linda
