Hi Cathy

Thank you for the emails. I am making a commitment to get back on track starting now. I lost 250 after WLS and gradually slipped back into my old ways. I have re-gained about 30 lbs. I need to get a grip on my weight before my life becomes unmanageable.

I started school full-time last fall at the age of 52 and this has been very stressful. I need to find a balance, plan and prepare my meals; exercise, drink the proper amounts of water. This is easier said than done.

I'm on a 2 week break from school and I'm going to take this time to get back on track before I return in July. I need accountability; therefore I will sign in everyday to seek the help that I need. Thank you again.

So glad to have found this site. I had surgery almost 4 year ago and have done well. Recently I've had some challenges (separating from husband, going to work fulltime, out of control emotional eating) and realize I really need the support of those who BTDT. Thank you for letting me join you all and I'm ready to get back on track.

To give you an idea about where I am at, here is a little about me. After a Gastric Bypass in late 2007 I lost just over 75kgs. (165 lbs) I was diagnosed with auto-immune liver disease in July 2009 and in July 2010 was diagnosed with Dermatitis herpetiformis (which means I have to be Gluten free). Both of these have stalled the weightloss due the steroids ( and the rubbish I have been putting in) and I have had a 16 kg regain (35 lbs). SO, here I am and with the help of such wonderful resources here at OH and the support of many people, I aim to kick that regain to the curb and finally get to my goal weight.

SO that means I have about 25-30kgs (55 - 66 lbs) to go.

I would love to get to know you all, and I will be encouraging a whole heap of New Zealanders to come and join the fun on the OH forums and chatroom. Can't wait to get to know you all.

I was just accepted into the group today.  thank you!  It feels good to acknowledge that I need to kick it up and get it going again.  My first months after my RNY (two years ago) were great - the weight melting off for months.  I lost about 120 of the 180 (roughly) pounds I wanted to lose and my surgeon recommended.  Now I have gained 20 of those back.  So...I have a ways to go.  and my goal is very reasonable.

I am ready to get Back on Track!  Will watch for posts.  Thanks for being here.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...

Just joined this group and am looking forward to sharing my Back On Track journey with others who are or have been where I'm at.

I had RNY GBP in August of 2007. Although I had complications for 3 months and required a second surgery, I never lost my appetite or had much dumping, which is actually unfortunate for me.  My start weight was 242#.  Lost 93# which was short of my 125# loss goal.

In August of 2009 we lost our precious 11 month old grandson in a horrific accident.  He and his parent lived with us, so it was like losing my own child.  10 months later we had a house fire and were out of our home for 6 months while they gutted and repaired our home.  8 months after that (this February) I was a passenger in an auto accident and ended up with severe whiplash.  6 months of therapy later, I still struggle with neck issues.  Unfortunately I am an emotinal eater and have eaten myself back to just short of my start weight.

Today, I weighed in at 209#, which is, sadly, a regain of 60#.  My life has been out of control too long.  I desperately need to get back on track.  Hoping the support and ideas I find here will help get me on my way to a thinner and happier me.

I posted this as a reply. Can anyone tell me how to post a new topic instead of a reply?   Duh brain...lol.    Jacki

Hello fellow BOTTers. I am Jacki from PA. I had my RNY surgery November of 2005 and lost 100 pounds. I am going to tell my story here so I can get it out. You can skip the next two paragraphs if you want....lol.

I felt like a million bucks. I did really well for 2 years and then the troubles began. I got sick and had to have surgery. I had my gallbladder out 20 years before and my body formed gallstones in my liver. They blocked the duct and I had surgery to remove them and open my duct in case they ever showed up again. From that point on it was a downhill slide to the unhealthy side. I started gaining weight and stopped exercising. I put on about 40 pounds. I rationalized it by saying that "everyone regains a little'... "I feel better at this weight"... and the big lie.."I didn't like my body". I felt deflated and the extra weight made me less self conscious about my body. I maintained that weight until the gall stones showed up again in Sept 2010. I had was septic and had to spend 10 days in the hospital. When I came out, I was wonderfully lighter. I know that I should have kept myself there but I didn't. No exercise, little protein... and candy..lots of it. I went through a divorce, my boys were graduation high school, and i decided to go back to school. But most of all, I ate. I am a stress eater... bored, lonely, upset... I eat. And I don't have a problem with dumping with sugar. It has to be a really high amount of sugar to make me feel sick.

Needless to say. I am here. I have regained 60 pounds. I am here to make myself accountable for what I am doing to myself. I'm tired and fatigued and it's my fault. Today, I have begun a food journal to keep track of the grazing garbage that I am eating and getting rid of favorite junk foods. I am increasing my protein intake. I set my goal for a loss of 10 pounds. Tomorrow am I am doing my measurements and the exercise will begin. i am planning a quick walk today after the Steeler game.

Thank-you for letting me get this off my heart. Time for Jacki to get her stuff together and DO IT. I know my pouch works, i just have to get my head to work and break these bad habits of sugars and carbs and mindless grazing.and get my butt exercising. Jacki

Hi Jacki,

Sounds like we're rowing in the same boat.  Sadly,  I'm also an expert in emotional eating and have regained 60#.  I'd love to have a partner on this journey to get back on track.  If your interested, let me know.   Together Everyone Achieves More = TEAM.
