AUGUST 2012 SLEEVERS - open community
Surgery date set for Aug 13th....
So excited to finally get to this point. I am pretty nervous, as I am only taking 1 week off of work, but hopefully will be able to suck it up. Now that I have told my family and the folks I work with what is going on, it actually feels real. My pre-op class is the day before my surgery, so will not really have time to assemble any items that I haven't already thought of. So far, I have gas x strips, a blender bottle, protein powders, and clear juices. My doc does not require a liquid diet prior to surgery (except the day before). Any other tips from those in the know? I will only be spending 1 night in the hospital...

Congrats to you. Yea I also wasn't given a liquid diet pre-op. I would suggest just to be ready to try and get all the liquids you can in after. I go back and forth between Water, SF Ice Pops, and water with Mio. As for the pain part it clearly differs from person to person. I haven't really felt too much pain (Must be Lucky) I took 2 weeks off work. But honestly I feel I could be back at work already. Just walk as much as possible and get those fluids in. Oh yea Chapstick for your 1 night in the hospital
Yay on your surgery. I had mine on the 1st of August and came home the 2nd. I had little pain...must be lucky too. I've been walking increasing my "mileage" daily. Definitely have SF popsicles, SF jello ready for when you get home. Also PowerAde Zero or calorie free Gatorade has been my go to. My biggest issue has been heartburn...but Prilosec has been helping that.
Good luck!!!!
