Cool!  I am trying to do that with walking at the Dipper in the morning.  It's so easy to say "I need to do this...or that.....I just don't have time." but we are worth it.  Thanks Alice for the reminder.

Are you your own obstacle?

Starlite_NC

Are you your own obstacle?

Are you trying to stick to your fitness plan, eliminate fast food from your diet, Stop Grazing?
Whatever your goal, was there a time when you thought you couldn't do it?
This is a natural reaction when things get tough. It's easier to find ways to justify your actions than to get over the hurdle.
This week, eliminate the hurdles and barriers you've created. If you find yourself saying, "I can't" or "I don't have time," then re-analyze your goal. If you really want to achieve it, then make the time or take a different approach (get up earlier, stay organized, learn the skills). Find time for you and your goals.

Most barriers to your success are man-made.
And most often, you're the man who made them.

Take this test to find out what you know about nutrition and reading food labels. http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/flquiz1.html

The test is great.  It gets you off the carb-cycle (I was on it!) and back to that "I feel full" pouch we had in the beginning.  It's the dense protein that is the key.  I lost about 5 pounds.  It's a good wake up call for those of us that need to get back to basics on the right road again if we have strayed. yours, Sherry :)

Topic: Heart Rate and Exercise
According to Dr. Ellner, most people should get their heart rates up to 145 to be considered a cardio or fat-burning exercise.  Wearing a heart monitor during exercise is a good gauge for this.

Topic: 5 Day Pouch Test
I have worked diligently to get the 5 Day Pouch Test in a format that is easy to use.  Please let me know if you'd like me to send it to you and I will.  I created it in a Microsoft Word document and have printed 3 copies (of which I will bring to our next group meeting on the 19th at TVC).  All credit goes to the author of the site, NOT ME!....I just rearranged things to make it user friendly....A lot of us are visual learners and need that "hard copy" to go by.  Personally speaking....I'm going to try it starting Monday. :) Sherry Blizzard
