I am hoping to do this soon. Just joined this group and hoping to connect with others like myself. Did you have the revision?

Hi I am new here too, and I am considering a revision from stomach stapling i***** to RNY,  I am in the process of talking to a surgeon and a team of amazing people. I am scared but also excited. Back in the day when I had my stomach stapled I was in the hospital for a week and was sent home with no knowledge of what to do. Now I have a second chance with a revision. I am hoping to chat with anyone who is considering or had it done.

I am from Oshawa, ON

Hope to meet some new friends on here enlightened

From one Lori to another I know just what  you mean . I had Lapband  then had it removed after it slipped. I had RNY 2/2009 and never got to my goal weight of 175. I plan to have BAND over BYPASS . My family and friends see i have lost weight but now like all the other people who had RNY!I hope to have this procedure as an outpatient and have as good  friend take me. I will say I had hernia repair.

I don't know what kind of a revision can be done from the RNY gastric bypass.  Mine was stomach stapling to the gastric bypass.  I went in knowing my doctor was planning laparaoscopic, but it could be open.  I had a lot of adhesions, so it took longer than planned, but went normal after he took care of the adhesions.  It was still lap, he didn't have to open.  My original was open.  The lap was phenomenal and easy peasy compared to the open!  I was in the hospital 2 nights, leaving Thursday (surgery Tues).  I was out of work for 5 weeks.  I had what they call a deep stitch pain for most of that 5 weeks and that was the "killer" part.

Hi, i had gastric bypass in 2000 and have gained my weight back. I'm looking for a surgeon in Dallas to do a revision or band. My GB was open surgery I'm hoping , if possible, if i do get a revision they could do it by laparoscopic.

How bad was the pain on the lap revision? Did it put you out a full week? how long were you in the hospital?

Topic: Revision from old Gastroplasty to Gastric Bypass

I had Gastroplasty weight loss surgery 24 years ago and was revised to Gastric Bypass a little over 3 years ago.   I've had multiple complication from both surgeries, but all complications have really been a result of the first horrible surgery.  I just wanted to know if anyone in this group was familiar with or maybe had surgery with the same doctor I had back in 1989.  I can't remember his name, but he was from Phoenix, Arizona and their was a nationally running commercial for his program called Lite Life.  My current surgeon and I would love to find out his name.  I really would apprieciate any information anyone might know, thanks!
