I hope your surgery goes as well as mine did. Be careful and take it easy for the first 2-3 days post-op and easy on the lifting. Great job on losing so much weight even before surgery!
Once I woke up he was there. I remember opening my eyes and seeing him and then closing them and then opening them and seeing him (that went on while) He was there for the nausea and handed me the bowl thingy to barf in but I never did. I would have to ask him how long that went on but he is hunting this weekend and I am making a baby shower cake for tomorrow so I could not go.

I got a little Versed while waiting but it really only made me high a little for about 10 minutes, then I was fine. I am not the nervous type, my husbnd is but they would not give him a shot.LOL. The second shot I got on the table I think was some more Versed.
I have not had to wait yet at there office. I work for docs so I know it is always posible. I also am the kind of patient that does not take up time. I get my answers before I see them as much as posible. This site has been great for that. Anything I need to ask the doc I have written down so I do not miss anything.
I wore loose fitting denium carpris and a loose shirt and slip on shoes. I changed into a gown and footy socks they give you (nude otherwise), sat in pre op till they took me back. DH was there some but he was starting to freak out so I sent him away. After surgery, the IV Iron, and some nausea they had to give me Reglan for, my DH and I walked over the the restroom (just across the hall) where he helped me get back into the Loose capris and shirt and I walked back to my bed. There I waited for my ride out. No time for PJs.
I took a book bag with my green folder and all the paperwork I had gotten up to that point, my breathy thingy in it, and my purse. That is it. I did not need the book bag and paperwork but it was something to read if I had wanted it. I did not even use the breathy thingy till I was at home that night.

I went to Dr. Nease's office today and man was it a long wait to get in!!! I was seen 2 hours after my appointment time. I really like Dr. Nease and his staff bunches though...so I waited patiently and kept thinking to myself that if there were people that had questions for Dr. Nease...at least he isn't rushing them :)
Did you bring PJs to the hospital? I don't know what to pack!
I had to be there at 8 am and was home by 4:30 and I had to get 1 hr of IV iron before going home. I left right after the girl he did after me. I did great. My DH and I took a nap (separately) when we got home. I slept in a recliner for a few days. My biggest fear there was my DH pulling me to him. He does that a lot, even now. Pain was the worst the day after but the Liquid Lortab worked great, when I would take it.
The pre op diet was not as hard for me as I thought it would be. I kept something with me all the time that I could have and tried to think about getting ready for surgery instead of eating. I hated strained creamed soup. I liked broth off of noodle soup.
Keep asking questions and learn everything you can. Crystal

Thanks Saundra
Dr Shin is my dr as well, I have one more appt with the dietician and then my psych eval and hopefully surgery in Dec if I get lucky. I have heard nothing but great things about Dr Shin, from both websites and the patients I've met in his office. I don't know if I can offer much help but I'll do what I can.
