Just wondering how you are doing with your daily fluid requirements as a post op?

It took me a year to be able to drink at least 80 ounces of fluids in 24 hours.

I can now drink about 100 oz in a day but not always.  I must admit that this is something I struggle with everyday.

Can you tell me what do you do to make yourself reach your daily goal?

Thanks for sharing in advance.

Hello Melinda,

Congratulations on the awesome weight loss.  Losing 65 pounds if fantastic! You know I used to think the same way as you and wonder if I could ever eat normal again.  Like others say we are eating normal it is the others that are not.  I must stress that it will get easier along the way and yes you will be able to eat a little more with time.  I eat pretty much normal except I stay away from refine sugars and stuff that are not healthy for me.
I am glad you are now looking to check on the WV  board. I hope and pray that we all get very involved in supporting eachother in our state forum.

Please know that I am here if you need anything.

Loved the affirmations thank you so much for taking the time to share them with us.

Best wishes on your continued success.

Cira

Hi, ladies!  Melinda you are doing so very well!  I am hoping to be banded in March or April.  I have completed all of the pre-op tests and appointments.  I just need to finish February at the WLC gym.  By March 2 we should be ready to send everything for insurance approval.  It's getting closer!!  Have a great day - Pat

Hello To Everyone,
I haven't given an update on here for sometime. I thought I would let everyone know how I am doing. I have now lost 65lbs. Surgery date was November 24, 2008.  I feel better each day I go through this entire process. I wonder sometimes if I will ever be able to eat normal again and someone told me the other day, you are eating normal, everyone else is not. How true this is. I have enjoyed this board getting busier. I am now looking here before I go onto the main board. To all the ones just starting this process, GOOD LUCK TO YOU!. It is entirely worth it.

Yes that would be me !!
I was supposed to have surgery at W and C Hospital and did all my pre testing there and at the last minute my date was changed a week ahead and it was at Memorial. So I had it on a Wed.and they ambulance me to w and c on that Friday morning and I came home that Saturday they wanted me to go there that Friday but they did not have a bed .Now i don't know about anybody else but I had a bad experience a Memorial They did not give me my normal meds that my Dr, ordered and they were trying to make me drink out of a straw and eat things I know that I could not have .Don't get me wrong the nurse were nice but they just acted like they did not have a clue about WLS.But when i got to the W and C ,they were absolutely wonderful there rooms are big and private and it was quite and my husband had a big nice chair to sleep in .At Memorial I had to share a room and i had to stay an extra day because I could not P on my on .(How can you concentrate when you got the Brady Bunch next door)Anyways if it were me I truly would go for Wand C they know exactly what they are doing .Oh the reason my Dr. wanted me at W and C was because he said that was boot camp and they would get me ready to go home .and yes I was told that  memorial was eventually going to have a bariactric unit also and the girl that was in the next room from me she also was ambulance to W and C
I hope all goes well for you

My understanding is that eventually all barriatric will be moved to Memorial.  I've known of several patients who were originally to have their surgery at Womens and Childrens but due to results of the pre-op tests, they were switched to Memorial.  I believe someone on this forum recently had surgery at Memorial and said they were then put in an ambulance and moved to Womens and Childrens.  I don't remember why.
