I am so happy that you got your surgery date. You are going to do wonderful. All you need to do now is get ready for the ride of your life. Start practicing now the new life that you will have so when that day gets here it makes it easier for you to deal with.

I have a surgery date! April 8, 2009! I am so excited. Today I had called the office to find out if they had set a date yet. I was told no and when they heard something I would hear something. So, feeling disappointed, I left for work. On my way to work I prayed to God and said if it is not for me to have this surgery, and I don't hear anything this week then I will not have it. Well I got to work was checking my mail before I went in and there was a message telling me my surgery appointment was on 4/8! I am so excited! So come on people give me all the advise you can give me! Tell me what I will be looking forward too. I know the one thing I can't wait for is to set my skinny self free. She has been locked inside this old body for a long time now. Pray for me that everything goes okay and I conquer obesity.

You are very welcome Lisa.
With RNY patints taking the sublingual b-12 absorbs better and the shots well the best absorption. I give my own shot each month so there is no co pays going to the doctor to get the shots.

Thanks so much Cira. I had no idea all that could happen, wow. I'm going to talk to my local doctor and see if she can start giving me the shot instead of trying to take pills everyday.

Woooo hoooo Diane Congratulations on your Re-birth date!
I remember getting my date and feeling like it was surreal and I couldn't believe that finally it was my turn to have the surgery.
I know what you mean about having friends or family that do not understand what you are going through. I have been there and when I found OH it was a life saver for me because these are the people that understood everything I was going through. I came here often for support and friendship. I am very active in the Maryland board. I used to live there before we purchased a house in WV. I made sure to go to support meetings and meet with other OH members. It is important to establish that so that you can know people that can relate with you. One thing to be thankful for is that your family is supportive and I am sure they will do everythign in there power to be there for you.
Take care and take these next 27 days to prepare for your life altering experience. it will be the best ride that you have ever taken in your life.
