Topic: Doubting my decision!
Yesterday I went to my preop class with the nurse. It was 2 hours long. There were 5 in the class, 2 men and 3 women. She asked who was having the lapband and both men said they were. The women said bypass. At the end of the class she said "Tonia you are having the lapband". I had to talk to the insurance lady and she said I told them I wanted the lapband. I know I told them I wanted the bypass. She said they had to contact the insurance company, it could take a little while. I go so upset and started crying, because I was so frustrated at this point. I called my inurance company later in the day and was told they changed it to the bypass. Now, I am doubting my decision. What if God wanted me to have the lapband? I also ask God for his guidance, and I never question him. So someone help me understand did I go against God's will, or could this be just a mistake? Should I cancel the surgery? Did anyone else ever feel this way? I don't have the support of my family to  ask these questions. They do not want me to have the surgery. I am worried, and in the beginning I was so excited. My oldest daughter is 29 and just found out she was pregnant. She was told she could never have a child, now look. God works is amazing. I now think maybe God is giving her a child to replace me. I am scared, someone please pray for God to watch over me and give me peace of mind and heart. I know things can happen, but did I just screw up?

Thank you all for listening to a crazy, scared woman right now!

Karen - thank you so very much.  I'm really getting nervous.  I've got my bag packed for the hospital and my "before" pics taken.  I'm having hernia surgery also so will be in the hospital for 2-3 days.  It's so hard to believe it's here!!  And, my goodness Karen, your numbers are fantastic!  You give me something to aim for!!  Thanks again for the prayers, Karen.  I'll post when I'm able and let everyone know how things went.  Hugs, Pat

Topic: RE: Charleston Support Group
Jim - Call Dr. Rossi's office and ask them about his support group meetings.  I know Dr. Shin has monthly support group meetings at Womens and Childrens; I would think Dr. Rossi would have the same.  Regards,  Pat

I went to school at Liberty High and its not bad at all.  RCB is a newer school and a bit more up to date with somethings, but I also heard (and remember) it had more problems as far as drugs and violence... but those things are unfortunately becoming popular everywhere.   As for elementary schools.. it has been a while since I have been there..lol.  My daughter goes to a Bridgeport Elementary school so I haven't dealt with Clarksburgs system for 15 yrs since I been in it.   My nieces go to Adamstem Elem and they seem to be doing well.    Good luck with the finding rental and moving.  We are looking for a new place too.  There seems to be a lot out there, all depends on what you want.  I'm trying to hold out for a flatter yard, but seeing how this is the "Mountain State" I might not to hold out too long!

Topic: 3 questions
Well after a week and a half of waiting on the referal from my Dr. I called to see if anythign had been done. It hadnt.. surprise.  The lady on the line said that since I dont have diabities yet, that the WV medical card wont approve me.  She said that it is up to my dr if she wants to refere me to a dr in Charleston to get the surgery done.   So my questions...

1.  Why would a Dr. in Charleston be able to get me approved and a Dr. in Morgantown wouldnt?  (Mo-town is about 40 mins away and C-ton is about 2 hrs away)

2.  Has anyone been able to get approved on the WV medical card that was NOT a diabetic?

3.  Do I have to have a referal for the card to pay for it or am I able to make an appointment myself?

I'm really starting to feel like my dr. really doesnt care for my feelings.  She cares when I'm there and as soon as I leave I'm not her problem anymore.  I know there has to be a loophole somewhere.
