I have gained 16 pounds in three weeks, she told me to day it was fluid in my body, but done nothing about it, with my fluid pill. :( she told me it was because I am fat, and my stomach is resting on the top part of my legs, so the fluid can't come back from my feet to my kidneys, so put my legs up very high, and rest it there for a while.
I have been watching my diet, doing well not lose staying the same. :( I don't know what to do any more, seems like my surgery is so far away, while I feel that I am dieing inside my own body right now. Not able to move all that good, without my legs, knees, feet, and back hurt so very much, because of the weight. My Nurse Pract will not give me anything for pain, so it's hard for me even to get out and walk on the road to try to lose weight, I had a hip replacement in Sept 2007, and it hurts really bad, but she will not give me anything, just tells me do deal with it, it's part of being big, and fat.
Please if anyone reads this, please tell me how to help my self, tell me how to keep living, at this point I am giving up, and feel that nothing right is going to happen.
Until next time take care and best of luck in your diet/weigth lose surgery.

9 Hidden Reasons to Stay Motivated
Ways to Rediscover Your Drive
-- By Zach Van Hart, Staff Writer
SparkPeople Sponsors help keep the site free!Everyone tells us to stay motivated. Our friends, our co-workers, our relatives say to keep going, don’t quit. Sometimes, though, you ask, "Why? Why try my hardest when it ends in disappointment? Why go through something when it’s going to hurt? Why?"
Because it’s going to be different this time! Because you can’t accomplish anything that you give up on. Disappointments and failures happen to everyone. The difference between those *****ach their goals and those who don’t is staying motivated. If you’re motivated, you’ll keep going. If you keep going, eventually you’ll reach your goal.
Need more reasons? Here are 10 of our ‘hidden’ reasons to stay motivated. Use one or all of them to keep the fire burning inside you.
1. Confidence
How did it feel after that first jog around the block? Or when you finally walked the stairs at work without losing your breath? The more you accomplish, the more you’ll believe in yourself.
2. Fit into that dress
It’s been hanging up in your closet for two years now, just waiting to be thrown on for a night on the town. All it takes is for you to go that extra mile and stay on track. Before you know it, those two years will be ancient history.
3. Make the week easier
Ever felt like a week was taking forever? It feels like Friday, but it’s only Tuesday? This happens when you’re not working towards anything. When you have a goal in mind, you’ll want to cook that healthy dinner or go to the gym. The week will not only go faster, but be more enjoyable.
4. Gives you purpose
Every once in a while, we need a good reason to get out of bed. Here it is, right in front of you. Eat the healthy breakfast that’s going to jump start your day, go for your morning jog, or walk to the driveway and grab the newspaper. When you’re motivated, you have a reason to do what you do.
5. For your kids
And your grandkids. And their kids, too. The healthier you are, the longer you’ll be around to watch your kids grow and to spoil your grandchildren. They’ll want you to be around as long as possible; consider this just another present.
6. Power of momentum
It’s a scientific fact – something in motion tends to stay in motion. Momentum builds quickly and can lead to great results. Suddenly, you’re not only working for the goal, but also to keep your streak alive. Even more reason to reach your goals.
7. The ‘wow’ effect
Picture this: Walking into a restaurant, you run into someone from high school, and their eyes light up. They gasp, "Wow, you look great!" By sticking with your goals, this can happen. Watch the "wows" add up.
8. Spread the spark
When friends and family see how hard you’re working, they’ll wonder how they can reach their own goals. Guess who they’re going to look to for help? By staying motivated, you’ll not only help yourself, but others too.
9. Keep gaining experience
The more you do, the more you will learn and understand. You’ll discover which tactics work best for you and which ones don’t. It’s like weeding out the garden - not the most enjoyable job in the world, but when you’re done, all that’s left are beautiful flowers. Keeping sticking with it and soon it will be all flowers for you.

Turning "Someday" into Today
Weighing Some Tough Options
-- By Mike Kramer, Staff Writer
It’s time for some cold, hard facts:- You’re not going to be able to read every book that you want
- You’ll never have time to watch all of your favorite shows
- The house will never be clean enough
- There will always be another errand to run
- The grass will continue to grow
- Everything you buy will need to be dusted, repaired, maintained or disposed of in some way
This is not a critique of any lack of organizational skills on your part, or a reason to give up altogether. Rather, it’s a statement of freedom.
When you know that life will still be waiting for you tomorrow—no matter what—it gives you the freedom to make today count as much as possible. "Someday" is right now. Anytime. And that can be exciting, if you let it.
If we ever hope to reach our biggest goals (especially weight loss goals), we have to start making some tough choices. We have to start giving ourselves permission to ignore one thing—or several things—for the sake of something more important. What can be more deserving of our time?
Obviously, there are some realities of living that require attention. We need to work, eat, sleep and care for our families. Beyond that, though, everything is optional. The choices are completely yours. If you feel you don’t have time to pursue your healthy lifestyle goals, you can do something about it by making those tough decisions.
It’s difficult to accept this idea. We’ve grown up in a world not used to saying "no" or doing without. By now, we’re used to being pulled in 43 different directions. We’re uncomfortable with the idea that we may just have to let something slide. The trouble is, we get so caught up in trying to do everything that we retreat inside ourselves. We get tunnel vision on the next task and lose sight of other people and what’s important. In a pursuit of happiness, that’s a futile strategy. The only way you can be in two places at once is if your name is Dolly and you’re a cloned sheep.
I come before you today to give you permission to start letting go.
Someone smarter than me once said, "You can have everything. You just can’t have everything right now!" To reach your goals and live the life you want, it takes priorities and patience—the ability to choose between two competing wishes, and the willingness to set one aside for now and wait.
You can build the path that you want to walk on, and decide which steps to take. It’s important to you—to your health, your goals and your family—that you take some time to exercise and plan healthy meals. You should treat it that way and give yourself permission to take that time without feeling guilty. The irony is that by being healthy and taking time from your schedule, you’ll be able to take care of more of that "other" stuff in the long run.
Besides, is anything on your to-do list really more important than your health? When it comes down to it, those choices may not be so tough after all.

You only have one life to live, but if lived right, it's the only one you need!
Welcome to WV.. I am too far to know anything near your area. But I wanted you to welcome you and wish you all the best.
I am originally from NY. Moved to MD in 1998 and then moved to the eastern panhandle of WV last June.
I love it over here and the kids adjusted nicely. I did visit the local church and the neighbors were friendly enough too. Once school starts it will make it easier for your kids since they will meet so many kids at school.
Good Luck with finding a job.

Please let me know which of those days works best for you so we can get it set.
Looking forward in hearing from you all.

I am trying to get this support group started. I am just recovering from surgery I had on June 25th so I am now home with enough time to invest on getting the support group started. I live at Locust Hill Community. So not too far from you!

I am so sorry to read that you had surgery, I am so glad that you are back and doing great.
I am sorry I have been missing in action myself. But I am back and here to support who ever wants my support. :-)
I also had surgery on June 25th I was feeling sick for about a month and half. When I would eat I would get pain in my belly like 30 minutes after finishing my food. It wasn't so bad at first I thought I was suffering from gas pain. But nothing would help it.. The pain would pass on it's own. Well on June 18th I got the pain again 30 minutes after eating but the pain was so bad that I was doubled over for like 1 1/2 hours. I called my surgeon that night and he said he was going to call in two prescriptions for me in the morning. I went to work that morning but I could not eat or drink anything. I tried to drink some coffee at work and I got the pain then I sipped on some water and girl that make me throw up and dry heave for like 10 minutes. I decied to call my surgeon again he told me to go immediately to the hospital that he works out of. I went and I spent the entire day until late night there after getting a CT Scan with contrast the only thing that showed that there was one small part in my small bowel that it was dilated. Since there was no blockage I was released and sent home with the agreement that I will follow up with my surgeon within a few days.
Well the very next day I got really sick again after eating a little bit and I called my surgeon that was on a Saturday. I got a call back with a nurse from the hospital telling me I was being a direct admit and gave me the room number and told me to get there by 7pm.
So I was not allowed to drink or eat. I was on dilaudid for pain and Sunday no one was conducting any tests. So Monday I had an endoscopy done all looked good no ulcers there. Then I had a GI Series and no blockage showed. Then my surgeon told me well maybe whatever you had probably passed so lets try you on liquids and see how you tolerate that. If you do well we will start you on solids and see if the pain comes back. Well liquids was fine but 30 minutes after eating I was doubled over in pain and they had to shoot me up with dilaudid. My doctor suggested that I would have a laparascopic exploratory surgery to see if they can find what is going on. They had two ideas one a hernia that was too small to detect in an x ray or that the second connection of where my small bowel is my have narrowed. So on Wednesday I had surgery and they found that I had a defect on the mesentary wall of the small bowel (a hernia). My small bowel was slipping in that hole and it was being pinched so when the food would get to that section it would cause that horrible pain.
I was released the very next day. I felt like a truck ran over me but I am thankful to my wonderful Surgeon he is a God send!!! I am recovering nicely and I only have miniml pain now. I go back for a folow up on July 10th!
Oh and also you know I had gone back to work. I was commuting to Maryland an hour an half each day. I was almost with Verizon for 4 months. Still under probation, guess what they did? They got rid of me because Ithey have a three strike rule and I could not return back to work before the 3rd strike since I already had one tardy which made 1 strike against me already. LOL Yeah ok my life is first! I am glad to be back home and my babies missed me so much. I barely had time to breathe or spent time with my family or my OH family. Well, I am back and happy to be back! LOL
Sorry for the long story!
take care and hope to see you the boards soon.
