Hello again Rob...it's the Texas transplant
Hang in there buddy...your day is coming. I could barley walk when I had this surgery. I have had 7 foot and ankle surgeries, 6 of them on one foot. 3 of them in one year...2007. I can walk for miles now.
You do really need to contact your surgeons office. First off... they may want to do something about your water retention. Second...there are pain relievers out there that do not effect your bloods ability to clot, so let them know how much pain you are in, and see what they can do for you. A nurse practitioner is great for a sinus infection or something like that, but for your problems you need to see a doctor, and since you have an upcoming surgery...there is no better place to start then your surgeons office.
Take care

I love my sleeve! My starting BMI was 47 and just 5 months later I am down 85 lbs and my BMI is 34. I have 34 lbs to go to meet my surgeons goal, and 44 to meet mine.
I had absolutely no problem with the surgery, and was back at work in less than a week.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Have you been the the VSG forum? It is located under the surgical forum on the forum pull down.
Good luck with your surgery.

My first visit I was there for a few hours. I first met with Vanessa (his nurse) and then Dr Shin and then Keisha (exercise physiologist) and then the Dietician ,Bev.
It was a mentally exhausting day. I would recommend to take the day off. I did.
I want to address your nurse practitioner, don't you dare take up for her, if she told you you are just too fat she is incesitive and rude, she may care about your health...maybe....or not... but she does not care about you, your feelings, you are right to see another care provider, and if this one is not any better, well roll on down the line to anoter and so on till you find the right match.
Sorry, didn't mean to go off or ramble, I'll go now.
Good Luck.
Just another guy whoes too fat

I am a nurse. I have spoken with the surgery nurses and the bariatric nurses. Dr. Rossi's staff has the reputation of being much, much easier to deal with. I walked over and handed my papers into Dr. Shin's staff directly. I was amazed at how nice Katie and Vanessa were. I immediately asked who had been so hateful with me on the phone since it obviously was not either of them. It is something I will discuss directly with Dr. Shin. I went to one of Dr. Shin's Saturday am sessions.
You can always call MSBCBS direct for the specific requirements.

My appointment was at 3:00. You have to be there 15 minutes earlier. I got there real early so went down to meet Keesha at the gym. We set up a date/time to get started on workout program, do measurements, etc. Then went back to Dr. Shin's office.

Just do your research, Vickie. Spend the time prior to surgery reading all the blogs and posts, asking questions, and researching. You want to know what to expect and what questions to ask at your appointments.
Best of luck! - Pat
