Topic: ISO Surgeon in Huntington
I had the RNY last August - will celebrate my one year next week actually. Surgery was done in Kettering, OH, but I recently relocated to Huntington. I am looking for followup care, and sent all of my records to Dr. Nease, who is affiliated with Cabell Huntington Hospital, but he refuses to accept me as a patient, stating that his caseload is too heavy already. (Even though he is accepting new patients - I guess I am not a moneymaker for him?)
Does anyone have any other recommendations for me for this area? St Marys has a program but I am having a difficult time finding any info for them. My other option is Kings Daughters in Ashland, but not sure if they will be in network since they are in KY.
Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Please keep in mind that men hormonally have an advantage over women when it comes to weight loss. Of course, he may not understand. It makes you want to trottle people who have no trouble loosing weight or keeping weight off.

Topic: RE: Goal: lapband
Thanks so much. I have been having hip pain again and was very fearful that I was going to go for a right hip resurfacing/replacement and have my plan to do a lapband side tracked. I peeked at my MRI today and I don't think it is time yet for the replacement. Goofy as it sounds, I have tendonitis and possible bursiitis in that hip. Any way, it would be great to get the weight off and decrease the pain that will be increasing over the next year as it becomes time for further hip surgery.

Vickie,
I had surgery with Dr. Shin 4/07 Lost 95 total 125. You are in great hands with the best man for the job. He will not tell you which surgery to have. He will tell you that RNY has better weight lost. After two years out both are the same. As far as which band to have,I have the older one.
If you need me I'm here for you.

Topic: i finally got into a wls seminar that works with my work schedule
great news i finally got into a wls seminar that fits into my work schedule. im going to go to one by dr rossi. has anyone had wls by dr rossi. i have had friends that has had surgery by him and they say he is excellent. 4 yrs ago i was going through the process with camc weight loss center and dr shin. since i work for camc. but due to personal issues mainly a ex fiancee who didnt want me to go through the procedure and working the apppointments around my work schedule made it difficult. i work evenings it makes it hard for support groups, etc. im ticked to death even my husband who has lost 150 pounds is coming with me. he lost it the old fashiond way though. so far im getting support from my mom and husband.

I am Tanya from Roderfield, WV I recently had the sleeve on July 31. I am doing great. I am so excited to start this journey. I had to go back to the Dr. a week after surgery to have the drains and staples removed (that was a piece of cake). And down 7 1/2 pounds. I am happy to say that I have had no problems. I am doing very well. Dr. Stickler is a great Dr. I am so gald I choose him for my doctor. His staff is great too. Tiffany is a sweethart. I called or email her everyday it seems to check the status with her of the approval for the surgery. I thank God for the chance to start a new life. good luck to you and if you have any questions let me know. God bless!
