Dr Rossi did my RNY on Sept 14. He is a great surgeon and everyone in his office is very nice, especially Sarah. The 6 month diet ( well 7 including the first visit) goes by faster than you think.

hello all! my name is sarah, and i am currently working towards getting the band surgery in huntington, wv. i still have to turn in my flow sheets for sept and oct, then i guess that's when the battle royale begins with the insurance company. i'm still trying to decide which band i want. my dr likes the realize band the best, while i've read the lapband is better. but for now, i'm getting more excited every day!
can anyone tell me what to expect at this point, or how soon after i turn in my flow sheets will i get a date scheduled?
have a good day everyone!
I am in Morgantown, but my surgeon is in Huntington WV. As far as surgeons in this region, I really don't know. I originally found my surgeon by reading his reviews on this site. You can search WV surgeons and read about them. I have nothing but praise for my doc, but don't know if you would be able to have the surgery that far from Buckhannon. I have family down near Huntington who took me to the surgery and I stayed with them during recovery. The first 3 days of recovery were the most difficult. I had laproscopic banding, with the Realize Band. You can read my profile for info on how I have progressed in the past year. Feel free to message me with questions. I am only on about once a week, so it may take me a while to respond.
Have you gotten a date yet for your surgery? I hope you are doing well.
Keep me posted ok.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

i just got a letter from camc regarding the changes for the employee insurance and effective nov 1 msbcbs will require a 1,500.00 co pay for all weight loss surgeries. i was disappointed because that means im going to be unable to have my surgery due to i cant afford the copay. i guess ill be back to dieting and dieting. this is crazy because so many people need this surgery to save their life, but the insurance industry would rather keep paying dr copays rather than preventive medicine. anyone in the same boat i am
I use to work at Sundial. See ya on the vsg board.
