So I am getting on a plane tomorrow morning to come hang out in Pittsburgh for a few days. This will be my first time in Pittsburgh so I am looking forward to getting a chance to check out the city. If you are fairly familiar with Pittsburgh, let me know if there are any "must see or do" places you would suggest. Just for a reference, I like movies, long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners and breweries....ok, just kidding...well not the breweries part.
Anyway, I am looking forward to meeting all of you that plan on attending the event this weekend. I think I am talking later in the afternoon so plan to come with plenty of questions about exercise, health and fitness....come on now, I know you love the topic. Oh yeah, and promise me you won't fall asleep after lunch. See you there!

I have had a few family members be a little less than supportive when I told them about trying to get the band.
What is the most amusing thing suggested to you to try first?
Mine was from my aunt. She is very religous, me less so. I brought the band up and she ask about it, but before I was done she asked if I would just try to fast and pray just one day a week before I get it done. Now I almost laughed out loud when she said it. We are the same size. She has not lost wt doing it so why would I? I know her heart was in the right place so I just moved the subject along. She will be supportive in the end, I think.
I believe God helps those that help themselves. I pray just not like she does.
Hope to see someone post the other story I have;)

And wouldnt it be great if our hubbys were crackators> sure would feel lots better all the time. I dont suggest this but when my son was at home and alot lighter I would have him walk on my back and that made it feel so much better
Yes, I feel much better. Thanks for asking.
My doc will be adding a new wing before I am better thow:) I love to be twisted up, wish my DH was a crackopractor.lol:)
Just to start out I have not been banded yet.
I am not sure about the food. I hope (but am not counting on) being able to eat most of the same stuff. But I like to eat lots of it. I had never heard the term "volume eater" before this website, but I think that is what I am.
I think carbinated drinks will not be hard to give up but the convience of them will be a challange to ignore. I was trying to go with out them and yesterday was great but today I ordered one and did not realize it till I was almost done.
Drinking with my meal will be very hard I think.

Mine is Soft Drinks. At this point I drink about 8-9 glasses a day.
