LOOKING FOR A DR IN BECKLEY
I don't know of any doctors in the Beckley area. There may be some. I had surgery in Charleston. The doctors in the Medabolix office were so great! The entire staff of the doctor's office and the staff at Women's and Children's Hospital were fabulous. I had a great experience with them. They were really encouraging. You may want to consider them even if it is an hour away. I had to drive two hours to get to Charleston.

Hi Anna...I'm having mine done with Dr. Stickler in Charleston at Medabolix. I don't think that there are any surgeon's in Beckley who perform this procedure.
I have also "heard" of a surgeon (dr. is female, i believe) at the LoMoor (spelling??) Hospital in Virginia. I cannot recommend her personally as I have never met her. Two of my friends went there and both are doing very well. I can find out more information if you would like...

Hi Anna! I know that one of the doctors at Raleigh General Hospital is training to do the surgeries. I don't know when he will begin, though. I personally had surgery with Dr. Shin in Charleston. He was worth the drive! It is always worth the drive to find the best. You'll want to find a doctor who has performed many weight-loss surgeries to ensure he will do a good job for you and you have less complications.
You are welcome to come the Beckley WLS Support Group meetings to learn more. Several RGH nurses have had the surgery and attend the meetings.
