Hi Everyone! I have been reading, reading, reading! Not sure if I will even be able to have this surgery since my insurance has a written exclusion. I am also concerned because of my age.....54. Anyone out there around my age that could offer me any advice?

I love this site. It sure helps with understanding pre and post op problems. You will find more people on the main board who have dealt with the age issue. You are not far from me maybe we could meet sometime!
Hi Vicki, I am 52 yrs old, had the RNY in Sept. 03, have lost 80lbs and I feel great. I thank God for this surgery and Dr. Shin and Dr. Stickler of Charleston. No regrets. Good luck and God Bless.
