Called Dr. Stickler's office

I just called Dr. Stickler's office and explained what I needed. I wanted to know if I had been accepted as a candidate for surgery and that I had my psych evaluaton on April 1. I explained that I was told it would be 7 to 10 days to review it and then I would be called. It has been 3 1/2 weeks. She put me on hold, came back and said,"It is still laying back there. Let me put you through and you can leave a message." She put me through before I could ask who it was she was putting me through to. The answering machine (I think it said insurance) picked up and I left the same message on it. Is this the same routine for everyone, or is it just me? I am really starting to feel bummed out. My BMI is over 40 and cannot imagine what is taking so long for the team approval. Jenn

Hi Jenn, This was not the norm at all for me. It was about 10 days for me and then they Submitted it to my insurance for approval on Wednesday and I was approved by WVPEIA on that Friday then I had surgery the next Thursday. Call them back and tell them you want to speak to somebody so you will know something. Things went really fast for me there but I saw Dr. Shin instead of Strickler, but still that is taking a long time. Hope things go well. Teresa

Hey Jenn.. I had my consult on May 18 too....I am still awaiting too...I have been getting the run around also....Don't give up...Keep me updated....
